Comment:
A masterful exposure permitting the shadows to go to black with graduating golden auras emanating from the sun's light that go to complete white. The sky however represents a rich mid tone blue to darker blue. The symmetrical composition is usually a drawback but given the straight on direction of the light, you really had no choice but to center your center of interest. I've shot in early morning and late evening lighting and you have no time to find a different location before your lighting is gone completely. The subject is clearly focussed although it seems small in the overall canvas. Perhaps a horizontal comp would have permitted you to make the subject larger but then you would have lost the foreground and sky with the ribbon like cloud. I'm giving it a 6.5 only because the subject is smaller and although it is interesting, it doesn't hold my attention as I think it should in a more highly ranked photograph. Great job with the exposure and an interesting image overall.

There is irony in this image. Obviously the house is still but it suggests motion by its slant which mimicks the tree. Together they seem to be like the blown back hair shots one gets from people in a convertable. The linear horizon and clouds add a sense of direction making this a strong image.

Comment:
The theme of "still" is expressed by the contrasting blurr of the people in motion. The things which are still are in sharp focus. The photographer further catches the eye by the use of color to emphasize those things which are still. The things in motion almost appear black and white in contrast. Altogether, however, this image doesn't really do anything for me.

A Perfect Pattern

A good night time exposure and obviously a tripod was used to steady the camera. Although it is a clear photo, it does not hold the attention because the subject, which is the ferris wheel, competes with the roller coaster for attention. Perhaps a closer perspective or some creative cropping would enhance the overall quality of the image.

The dance of the flames

The spinning light has a grace and fluidity that draw the eye to the center but the person holding the light remains invisible adding to the mystery of this picture. Although it is dimly lit, the warmth and the contrast in the background add to the sense of suspense.

Uninteresting. Poorly exposed. Lacking creativity. I wish I could say something positive but I get the feeling very little effort was put into this image and it shows.

Although the idea is interesting the execution of it is lacking. The young girl is striking with her hair flying outward and the red dress to attract the eye but we cannot see the face well enough to relate to her emotions and the contrast is rather flat. Perhaps if you had taken this photograph either in the early morning or toward evening when the lighting would have been softer and warmer. Perhaps allowing her to blurr to suggest motion.
