But,as you asked, here are some ideas:

1 - Insert a color border around the image.
2 - The image is a little light. Try to darker it a little.
3 - I believe the subject could be more centered.

Your photo - National Gallery - did not get a big score.

I believe the problem is that you shooted too much near the entrance...

This little distance generates a bad sensation.

Ideas:

1 - Shoot a little bit far;
2 - Put more contrast;
3 - Put black borders;
4 - Insert your signature, or initials, in the left botton corner and
5 - The people there gives an idea of EXIT. So, try to take the image with no people there.

The subject is perfect.

But is too much close!

There is a lot of light there.

Try to adjust to a more dark colors...

May be you want to blur the image.

Another idea is to put more sky there. Something like "angels presence".

1 - There is a hair there;
2 - Could be a good idea to Sharp and try in B&W;
3 - A black border could be a good idea here and
4 - More contrast can get the water to be more visible.
