Landing at first lightby juliannjComment: I really don't find this image underexposed but i guess its not about the challenge topic that we are scoring. Beautiful image though. |

Yessir, f1.2 FTW!
I love this lens, everyone else seems to bitch about the softness that is imbues on an image. Modern lenses with AF seem to make everything razor sharp. This is a 40+ year old MASSIVE chunk of glass, the back side is about half as big as the front, the thing weighs a ton, but there is nothing that feels like it at all. I really feel that shots with this monster are very warm and soft. In this shot the focus is I think about halfway through the grip on the lense, its hard to use on the D40 cause the viewfinder is so small and dim.
The other thing it offers is great buttery Bokeh, see some of my other shots in my portfolio for examples. |
