Operator ineptitude... ;o)

edit: I'll figure it out someday. I have faith!

Only one complaint since I got the 20D:
I'm seriously considering spending more money on lenses than is strictly sensible. I saved to buy a dSLR, and now that I did the sensible thing and didn't get into debt for a 'hobby purchase' I'm thinking of getting seriously into debt to buy glass. Damned adictive things, should come with a general health warning..

With the G5: (A great camera BTW)
Slow focus at times, and the shutter lag.
Noise at high ISO
CA wide open.
That I sold it. Should have kept it, the 20D is a bit too 'in your face' for some things.

The Nikon 2500:
Nothing! For what it is, it's a great wee camera, and fits in my pocket perfectly. I still carry it with me as my 'snapshot' camera.

And my first digital, a Kodak DC50:
Amazing when I got it, but just plain terrible any way you look at it.... I know it was early days for digital, but it was a shocking camera.. :-).

Cheers, Me.

Most of the my complaints with the 5700 have already been covered but one other problem I have found is the positioning of the zoom button. On the odd ocassion (normally when rushing to get the shot) my thumb rests a little to heavily on it.

As for my Canon 300D, I have only had it for a week so I haven't really got much to complain about. I would have liked it to have had a cover over the LCD screen like the D70's or a swivel LCD screen. I would also like the ability to shoot B&W from the camera instead of using the software on the computer.

I think the Nikon d70 has too much grain at a high ISO

which camera is this? obviously not D-Rebel.

My biggest beef with the Rebel is how long it takes to go into review mode after I take a RAW picture. Can't it go straight into review when I take it?

Also, when I get down to my last 100 megs, it locks up while shooting RAW and whenI turn it back on, it says "corrupt data" or something. That's annoying.

Cannot use an external flash. Other than that I am very satisfied.

From the ownder of a 20d :)!!!

This thread was confusing me - I couldn't figure out why all these people were making complaints about cameras that didn't seem to apply - i.e someone with a dslr complaining about lack of macro on the camera. Then I was smart enough to look at the dates - it's amusing to see the number of people who've upgraded their cams.

As for my camera, I've only had it three days, mostly it rocks. There is no better value camera on the market here in Australia. The only complaint is one I knew about before I bought it, so far it hasn't been a problem, but I am curious as to why the manufacturers decided to have an ISO range which only begins at 200. Seems a silly oversight.

I did think of one other thing I was a little disappointed with in the 20D. There doesn't appear to be any OEM option for a wireless shutter release, which I've had a few instances that would have been really nice.

10D - Start-up speed is damn annoying, but an upgrade to 20D would sort that.

The fact that it won't hold my preference for auto exposure bracketing, I have to set it every time I power up

Hate the crop factor when I want to take wide angle, but love the crop factor when I want to go long.

Other than that I'm pretty satisfied. Don't thnk I'll jump to the 20D, there are not enough new features to make me want to spend the extra. I'll wait for the 30D 12Megapixel version ;-)

I really don't like the dust on the sensor but i can live with that, i don't like the camera not having Multiple exposures, and i'm getting a little bored change the lens but that is really my problem by not having a all around lens. But i think that is pretty much it.

for the 400$ i payed for my camera. I LOVE IT!

20D: Having to press a button to see/change the ISO and the non-central AF points can have difficulty locking on focus sometimes. Apart from that I LOVE this thing.

Sony DCS F717: Lack of RAW and shutter lag.

Now that this old thread is dug up again:

D70:
I hate it that it doesn't autobracket in single shot (afs) mode but needs the continous mode (afc) for that. But that's all.

In the "old days of film" it was fairly easy to buy two bodies and dedicate one to a long lens.

Love the dRebel, but it's too dang expensive!

With my Panasonic FZ20:
1. Max. 8 sec. exposure. I would love to have bulb function.
2. Tripod mount not centered with lens.
3. Slightly high noise than some other cameras.

Rebel camera:

Biggest beef is I can't adjust the flash.

I can understand your confusion. That remark was in reference to my older Canon Pro 90 IS, not my new 20D. The Pro 90 is an older model built heavy to house a 10x IS lens system without an extendable/retractable lens barrel. The lens is very high quality. I love it, and got lots of fine images out of it. But it's circa 2000 electronics (2.6 mp, slow start-up, excessive shutter lag, and very slow burst shooting) are dated to say the least. Unlike some of my other past digicams, I'm keeping my Pro 90.

Um Ha well you see emm err yar yes that but umm I am a tinkering mechanic and ahh you see I like fixing things soo I kind of like all the quirky little or sorta big things my camera does. Well and the fact it is always with me like glue. At work this MAN asks me ‘what’s that your purse?’ I reply ‘UHH no it’s my camera.’ His face has this BIG smile on it and he replies’ Right.’ My smile slowly dissolves as he giggles walking away his shoulders bouncing.
That’s about itâ€Â¦. :) :(

Must be a pretty good cam, if the only complaint you have is that it only takes single shots in single shot mode and you have to switch to continous/ multi shot mode to take multiple shots...
