Totally amazing! It is so detailed and well put together. What a fantastic picture!

It would be interesting to try various software and see how they do compared to each other. I was looking at Autostitch recently and thought it was amazing how it, well, automatically stitched shots together with no user intervention.

One more "OH WOW!" from me. What might a print cost? (Probably not as much as the framing :o#) !!

(btw, that's a mustache )

I think it's an excellent panorama. The scenery lends itself nicely to this type of photo.

Speechless! Gotta get a better camera

Great shot.

Yeah, it was taken at Twin Peaks where the big tower is located. I think it's the highest point in San Francisco.

I've tried quite a few different software, but not Autostitch. The software I used is all automatic; Hugin sets up all the matching points automatically and outputs tifs, and Enblend seamlessly stitches the tifs together. Enblend is a command-line utility, so you just have to learn the syntax once. I had to let Enblend run overnight to make this panorama; I think it took quite a few hours.

Gorgeous shot - one of the better panoramas I've seen. Even more incredible that you did it handheld... I've done this and when I think of the time I've spent leveling the tripod and moving the camera just the right amount - yeesh - I'm jealous! :)

I used to live in SF right underneath the tower. It definitely is the highest point in the city. In fact, when I gave driving directions they often included a phrase like, "drive towards the large red and white tower." It's odd... such a pretty city and such an ugly highest point. I glanced through my pictures and I don't have any great ones of the tower, but I uploaded a few anyway.

Great shots, I especially like the second one with the fog over the lower part of the bridge.

Where did you go to get your panorama printed?

If anyone wants a print of this panorama, you can order one at EZPrints by logging into my shared folder at:

//www.ezprints.com/PhotoSharedlogin.asp

username: 684484
password: pano

You can get a 6" X 7' print at 300 dpi for $20 or a 12" X 14' print for about $36.

I just got my 6" panorama print in the mail today, and it turned out pretty good. It looks like it could use more sharpening, though.

You really are doing it backwards aren't you. You're supposed to go from Los Angeles to San Francisco to out of state. :)

Ha, ha, that's funny because I started in Colorado, then came to California.

That is good work indeed
makes me want to leave the photographically uninspiring Dallas and move to the Bay Area.

no...wait...taxes...expensive real estate... taxes... nevermind I'll stay here and admire your pic. :)
