I have a 512Mb CF card which is causing me some problems. When i put it in my Fuji S7000 it says 'Card not initialised' it can be formatted via the camera, but i still get the same message!!
The PC struggles when i stick it in the card reader as well, i have tried to virus scan and the PC freezes.
Any ideas or should i just bin it?? |

Flash cards tend to have lifetime warranties. Send it in for service. |

You might be able to run diagnositcs on it as if it were a disk drive. that may tell you if it has address ranges that are bad. Given the replacement cost, however, it may not be worth a lot of effort, especially given the risk of losing pics off the card in the future. If it were me, I'd toss it and replace it.

Scalvert, I tried to some lifetime warranty CF a while ago, and I as surprised how few companies actually do offer it. If it's not Extreme/Ultra, I think you're lucky to get it. The standard seems to be around 5 years.
