That's interesting to know. I wish that made me feel better, but it doesn't. I feel like a quitter.

How did you pull your entry? I have the general idea of what everyone that has voted so far thinks. No need to make anyone else suffer...

It would not make me feel better either. If I enter a challenge, I stand by my decision and live with the outcome. |

What can I say, I had a weak moment. Just didn't feel like dealing with it all week. I'll learn from it and move forward. |

I haven't pulled out yet, but with all the complaining about crap photos and sheer volume, I figure I'd do the voters a favor. Personally, I don't care about my score. Good thing too, cause it sucks big time. I like my image. Its unique in the challenge and I enjoyed finding it. I'm not alone as I have gotten some votes over 6 but the volume of 1s and 2s are telling me something.
d, who is hanging in there at 4.5 with 0 comments. Yeehaa! The great thing is, its not awful enough to induce comments either. ;) |

You can request validation on your entry and type in the details that you would like your submission removed. However, you may not do this if you have been DQed in the last 25 submissions and also note that any further DQs in the next 25 challenges will result in a suspension. While it is possible, I wouldn't recomend it. |

Thanks Heather.
Seems people think I would be "wussing" out if I did so I'll leave it. I just won't listen to them whine anymore... ;)

Well, I seem to have struck a chord with the commenting ppl, about little less than one comment per hour so far (17 comments in 20 hrs):

and a decent score too, so no complaints here.
Edit: if that commenting pattern continues for 7x24=168 hrs I should get about 150 comments :) LOL

Out of 119 votes and 138 views, I only have 4 comments. I spend a long time trying to say something to most of the things I vote one. NOw granted not ALL, but most. Sometimes it's hard when you just want to say "I think this photo stinks," and I'm not going to be that cruel to anybody. Plus I feel like I say the same things over and over sometimes. Great, splendid, super, excellent... I don't want to become trite!!
I'm hanging between 4.9 and 5.01 all day. My Macro's not fairing much better and I thought it was really good. I have gotten some nice remarks on it, but not many. COME ON PEOPLE, SPEAK UP!!!!! Judy |

I have to be honest, but of all the photos I ever entered into challenges, I have never been mad at scores. However... this time I am.
LOL. I am doing a 4.5 and I wish I knew why. I do have 9 comments so far, and its from people that love the photo and say its great.
The photo itself is excellent, and I ain't just saying that because it is mine. What I mean by "excellent" is, it fits the challenge, the colors are great, focus is there, composition.... etc. So I can't figure for the life of me why it is scoring low. This photo definitely deserves a 5 average vote. Its not a 4 average type of photo. It is going to be interesting to see what type of photos scored better than this.
Anyways... I guess I will have to wait until the challenge is over for all of you to see the shot in question, and then I can ask what it was the voters didn't like. |

well maybe this could be your case but maybe not since i dont konw what your image looks like but here it is anyway: i have seen some pictures and sometimes the technical side like color contrast and everything is great and everything is perfect...but they took a picture of the wrong subject. they took a picture of something plain. like if you took a picture of a coin or a circular table or something, it doesn't matter how soft the lighting is or how well the copper tones are portrayed, it's not going to go very far. imagination is key on this site.

I hear ya Art. My photo is definitely original. No wheels... no tables...
I am starting to think.. that rather... my "circle" is not getting full attention, and maybe thats what is killing my score. Who knows. :)
I will share the photo with everyone after voting is done to get specifics. Have a good day. |

This is the wildest challenge I have ever entered. I have not kept close track of the score but was very happy for a while. After 15 votes I was at 7.8 then after 20 votes I was at 7.1. I knew It would drop but not problem. Then I looked at it at when I was around 50 votes it was at 6.5 then when I got 110 votes I was at 6.1. Today I was at 145 votes and it was at 5.97. I'm currently at 158 votes and down to 5.9114.
I guess the higher your score starts at - the bigger the drop. Still happy with the score. I would of liked it to be over six but at this rate I will be lucky if it's stay above 5 by the end of voting.

I had a GREAT picture for the circle challenge, but I ended up in the ER with a broken foot. So as soon as I get a chance, I'm posting my circle photo in my profile...probably tomorrow. I feel it would have rated about a 6 or so...and to me that's great.. :)...
But i'm checking out all the others...good luck to those who entered. |

Really liked my picture and was expecting low 6's. Started the day at 5.905 and been falling steadily since. Got 16 comments all saying they love it, but guess that's not what the majority think.

I think thats a load of crap. I wat my images removed (one has already been DQ'd) because I am unable to finish voting and commenting on these challenges. I am unable to vote because I cannot sit due to a recent back injury and don't think it fair that others should have to vote on mine if I can't do the same to theirs. I think SC/Admin should allow a removal at photog's request button for this sort of thing without having to get it DQ'd. Yes I understand all the crap your gonna respond with as I have already PM'd 2 other SC members to have my submission removed but this is just another on my opinions.
