I work as a trainer for a pharmacy automation systems company.

In English, we make robots that dispense prescription medications. I go on-site to do training and support when a pharmacy purchases on of our systems.

I travel a lot and always take my camera with me.

I'm a Professional Geek too... I work as a Satellite and Microwave Signal Coordinator for the WB11 in NYC.

And, when I'm not there, I do headshots for actors.

Sorry Michael, They won't let me out of work long enough to go home sometimes, let alone DC!

And thanks for all the compliments on my photos! Hopefully someday I can crack the top ten in this place!

I run two businesses

www.otn.co.uk

and

www.iblurbs.com

The first is a web design company specialising in database driven and e-commerce enabled sites.

The second is a very cheap and easy to use content management system.

So I guess Im a cross between a geek and an entrepreneur.

I design Access database applications for small businesses, which is kind of funny, because I am originally a trained art historian with a PhD in the iconography of the grotesque. Unfortunately, it's impossible to make a living from it - had to learn new skills, finish a Web design course (my new site is on its way)and slowly morph into a geek. Have good friends though who immediately put a lid on it if it goes OTT.

Basically, I make my living by selling things on eBay. There are any number of different things. In addition, I sell things for others as well for a percentage. It works out for them because I generally get more for my auctions because of my "Powerseller" status which you get from eBay when you have a high feedback rating and you have to keep a certain monthly average in sales on eBay. If you want to see some of the things I sell, my eBay name is DarPaz.

I am also a Medical Technologist (hey Turbotech). We are the unsung heroes in healthcare. We do all the tests on any substance that can come from the human body. Doctors would not know what was wrong with their patients if it wasn't for us!!! My specialty is Immunology (infectious and autoimmune diseases), but I am currently working in the chemistry department of a large hospital.

When I'm not teching, I love to garden, scuba dive, read, take pictures, and bowl.

I used to own and operate a small business in our home town 7 years ago ( Diana's Family Hair Care). Then My daughter almost died in child birth, the baby came 2 Mo. early, weight less than 2 lb. 14 Mo. later My 19 year old son , was in a near fatal car crash, broke his neck, all ribs, arm ,both hips, punchered both lungs, split his splen, borke his jaws in 4 places, lots of other injurys and left him with a massive brain stem injury. I sold my business, and my daughter is to sick to take care of her son . so i take care of my 7 year old grandson and also take care of my son at home. My husband supports us by operating a D.8. Caterpillar Bulldozer
About 6 Mo. or so ago i was at wal-mart and picked up the kodak camera . Didnt know anything about a camera so the sale's clerk tells me that it was the best they had so i took it home. while i was registering it, I found DPChallenge. Wish i had found DPC. before i got the kodak. Ohh Well Live and Learn.

I recently graduated from college with a bachelor of science (psych major / philosophy minor). I want to go for my masters, so I'm trying to save up for that.

I'm also a proficient writer (essays, speeches, philosophical musings, etc.), and am capable with computers (the one I have now I built last year). I also do a bit of web design that's non-paying unfortunately. I've also been considering applying for the FBI (working in forensic psychology or missing persons).

I'm looking for a full time day job, but I work nights as a bouncer at one of the major nightclubs in the city. The job is cool most of the time, but I have been punched, scratched, almost stabbed, and my life has been threatened.

Other than those extreme circumstances that only happen every once in awhile, it's fairly calm most of the time and I usually just stand around getting paid to do nothing.

My url didn't seem to be working. Fixed the typo, everything works now. :)

After a career in the computer industry (programming and user interface design), I've recently been working part-time for a Golf Hypnotherapist, doing graphic design, computer support, trade show booth duty, and some phone sales. I'm thinking of training as a hypnotherapist, if the demand keeps growing.

Hypnotherapy fascinates me and I love playing golf, so I'm hoping to improve my golf game when the season opens in the Spring. I'm amazed at the size and scope of the golf industry! I'd also like to find a way to combine my photography and my golf.

After going through all this, maybe we should get a "Skills Gallery" page set up so folks who are self-employed can catch some referrals. Might make another good "Member Bonus" feature.
