Well, I'll 5 again if I'm lucky. About a dozen truly great images in this one. It's hard to make a subjectless image. I see the brown ribbon bandit is back again. ;)

5.6... Ooo Im sorry if it was bad >.< Im really no good at commenting

Nope, it wasn't bad and I appreciate it. You said that it seemed a bit dark. I agree that it's a bit darker than many, but it fits the subject (or hopefully lack of subject). I suspect that others may think it's too dark, especially if they have uncalibrated monitors. I guess I'll see as comments come in!

Ahhhh - my wife is .2 ahead of me still! Our scores are connected somehow as they both move the same way in the same increments. But really - who can complain as we thought we would be duking it out in the low 5's.

hmmm... just starting out and it is just as I thought:) I did get one comment that said the commenter didn't know what to say... uh.... then why comment? kinda weird... The other two comments so far are really good, and address things I had a feeling were going to be issues for some:)

I received a similar comment, which was followed up with a comment on the image itself. (Which I am biting my lip about as the technique I used is an "advanced" photographic technique often used to direct the eyes of the viewer, which is what I was aiming for my shot.)

What's up with the double posting?

I'm happy with everything above 4 :)

No comments? I know what yours is then I accidently missed it
I just went back through mine and I only have 3 pages of under 5 scores.. So I may have gave a crap comment but I voted pretty high in this

Sorry I forgot :) I have 2 nice comments and one of them is from you :) Always nice to get comments
08/28/2006 09:50:50 AM · #118
wow, bouncing score ..
either people like it or hate it, up & down by a .1 every vote
08/28/2006 09:59:46 AM · #119
I am now under 5. The price of a challenge with great entries is crappy scores. Well, it's worth it. And scarlet, your comment was brief but it is one of the reactions I love most to get. Thanks.

Hope it holds... There's some beautiful work in this challenge.
08/28/2006 10:04:47 AM · #121
Maybe I don't understand the challenge, but at first glance there seems to be a lot of images with subjects. By that I mean people, flowers, tress that are actual focal points and composition elements.

I haven't started voting yet. But in my mind there are many DNMC.

I am currently at 5.3. The 2 comments lead me to believe I understood the challenge.

Anyone else struggling with this?

I've voted on the entire challenge now and there are some great images. There's also quite a few which definitely do have a subject, and a few that are a bit crazy.

I may have to revisit voting to spread things more evenly, at the moment everything is clumped in mid-range.
08/28/2006 10:13:58 AM · #124
I hate this challenge. an image without subject seems to be nothing more than the stationery challenge with a new name.

what a shame I wasted a really nice photo on this challenge, I should have sent this one straight to my portfolio, now instead of people enjoying a nice photo they are all voting it down because it does not meet the challenge. or should I say isn't just a bunch of blurred colors.
