I don´t think I have yet taken my best shot ever, I am never 100% happy with any of my photos but this one is my fave right now.

this one at the moment.
to capture a child's "bliss", to respond at the right moment and take a picture at that right moment is sometimes very hard for me. I'm glad I managed to do that in this photo. |

If I had gotten all of the shots that I've wanted to get, but I've missed, this may not be my best ever. But since I did get lucky enough to catch this one:

This was a nice occurence, where everything found it's place and settled down for me to perpetuate it.

So personal, not necessarily what others would like. The emotion in this one did it for me, along with spending hours crawling along the ground on different days hoping to get this kind of geometry. If you aren't a horse person and haven't experienced the mare-foal bond, it might not make as much sense.

My fave changes depending on new experiences and moods. But for now this one represents so much. I have always been horse mad. When things got rough I would escape with my horses and dog and just disappear. Since I have had children I just don't get the time to be with them, let alone photograph them. But the other day I did spend some time with some friends horses and this was one of the images I got. They are not related...by any means and yet that have such a bond. And through that I managed to get the touch, the look. There was no cropping...this is how it was.

You may think of it as just a snapshot - but it will forever be a classic in my book!

This is my highest scoring image on this site. And I'm so ashamed of my lowest score, I'm not even going to post it here...

It would be between these two for sure, as they both mean the world to me personally, as they touch my soul, and my heart.

I also love, really love my agaves, but you all know that.....

This was pretty much a fast grab. I've seen cats with birds but I've never been able to catch one and this is one big dang bird for a cat! It did get away in the end.

My ACTUAL favorite will be in the Free Study...so I can't show it yet :) So here's ONE of my favs...
Can't really decide on a favorite, but this is for sure one of them. It's a photograph from Butte, MT, my hometown. The mining history of that town is just so interesting, and this image has resulted in some great contacts and gallery spaces.

This is surely my favorite and yet it reached nowhere closer to my top ranked photos. But I still love it for its mystery :)

Very cool stuff...lots of new favorites. I was curious why some of you picked the images that you did.
The one I posted (see:OP) was a once in a lifetime kind of moment. It probably won't ever happen again while I'm standing there, even half ready to get the shot. It was a rush as the stars started to align in that picture. I was trembling as I was setting my camera to capture the moment. It came and went within 5-10 seconds. That's why I think it's my best to date.
80% of what I shoot can be shot over or very near to the original. I have tendency to assign higher value to unique moments over most anything else.

Not really sure if this is my best shot, but certainly my favourite. For me a once in a lifetime chance, and the first photograph of my daughter. |
