I have forwarded it to the other team members and we should be making an appearance in the next few days once we've thought a little more about our suckiness.

So..
We have a team, we pick a name, design a logo, and each explain our suckiness to Team Suck? Any blindfolded whacking with tripods to endure? Anything else we need to do?

Be sure and check out the Suck League website.

Thank you, thank you one and all.
I am pleased and excited to be a Minusite. I suppose it's a good thing that my employer blocks forum websites, or I would be completely useless there (work-wise) instead of almost useless.

What can I say, but Wahoo! Be patient with me while I stumble around.
I enjoy community. Thanks for taking me in.

Hey ... nobody ever told me about Team Suck having a website! I just checked it out now. It looks cool.

well, hey there newbies! welcome to team suck. always happy to welcome new people to corrupt befriend.

sorry it's been a while since i contributed in any way, shape or form. the ol' ms has been acting up a little - just very very tired.

so, just wanted to say hi! and i'm lurking, just not doing much.

I suck so bad I don't even qualify for a Team Suck.
When they look at my stuff, they all just say YUCK!
I don't even feel worthy to put out my sign.
I think I'll just sit back and wait for Team Whine.

HELLO and WELCOME Greetmir and Maxine!

David, that is SO cool! I love when Mary gets to put the "new Personal Best" part at the top of the week's entries!

Mine's doing better than it started out - up to almost a 5.8 right now and NOT complaining one bit. Keep that score of yours up - I'll be looking for the shot next week!

He's right - not everyone is cut out for the League of Suck. Team Whine - sounds more like WPL.

I dunno; I just saw something about poetry and thought I would write a poem. Looks like all your teams are full, anyway :) Got my hands full with WPL right now, too.

Just kinda stopping in.

Welcome aboard to the new folks!

For anyone lurking and considering joining, and for Kirsty, keep in mind that our teams don't mean a whole lot other than who gets to vote for the Yappie and OOBie. I have no clue what team anyone is on, frankly. It's all I can do to remember I'm on Team Minus.

So - we're all Team Suck. I think at one point we used the term "tribes" or sub-teams, actually.

Finally, note that we don't necessarily make sucky pictures. Rather, "suck" is an attitude about life, photography, and community.

Hello all, and big welcome to the new Suckers!

Just returned from an amazing trip to Sedona. The scenery is stunning. Talk about sensory overload! A few of my photos turned out ok - one may turn up in Free Study. I've got to try some non-wildlife entries :-) I'll post a couple of the non-contenders for FS in my portfolio.

levyj413 - I think I recall you are really into hiking? Yesterday morning my friend and I did almost two vertical miles to the top of the redrocks. I was nearly in tears it was so beautiful. And cold. We hiked from the desert floor to the snowline. I'm exhausted today.

Also, big thanks to everyone for really nice comments on my Jan FS photo (owl). Really appreciate it!

Last, but certainly not least, huge congrats to silverfoxx! I just read the incredible news about jurying into exhibition with your Best of 2006 photo. I'm not surprised. You have talent to spare.

Ohhhh yeaaaaaahhh. Check out my Alps collection for proof. :) I'm very jealous - I've heard incredible things about Sedona. I look forward to seeing some of your shots! And yes, you need to put in something besides wildlife. That's why I went with the smoke shot instead of another DC monument.

Changing gears, check this out:
One photo out of focus is a mistake.
Ten photos out of focus is an experiment.
A hundred photos out of focus is a style.

Hi all

Well f&v is at a *respectable* 5.0, while Good continues to bomb at 4.0...ah such is life in the suck league.

Love to do Street Photography, but small town street photography is kinda daunting, esp. when it's -30 out! Neither my camera or potential subjects like the cold.

Didn't even attempt to get School in either Biology or Music...all I can remember from Biology is stuff like memorizing the 20 billion different parts of a cell (AND their functions), and Music was an utter disaster for me. So either I'd've shot a pic of a cell (or a dissected frog, remember that?) or a violin with hanks of torn-out hair (mine) all over it from sheer frustration.

So methinks I'll be lazy this week and just cruise along on F&V. Anyway tomorrow's Wednesday and more challenges will be posted then.

Oh yeah, submitted 3 more to LuckyO. Once I get accepted I will be magnaminous and post my mum's brownie recipe for all to enjoy.

Time to go vote now!

Are you only trying LO? You should submit all the same pictures to both LO, Fotolia and 123RF. They don't all take the same type of shots. And the shots that were shot down by LO are the ones I'm selling on both Fotolia and 123RF. Also, the rejection doesn't really hurt if at least one of the three accepts something. Be a pal and share them brownies now!

Okeydokey Kelli. I thought I'd try to get in with LO first as they seemed to have the most amateur-friendly feel to them, but will definitely submit to 123RF and fotolia too...unfortunately don't have my card reader here with me but will upload some pix tomorrow and see what happens!

BTW - curious - why site name change? (And THIS question from someone who just did so too a couple months back, lol)

Sailing along with a 5.05 in F&V on a shot I didn't think would break a 4.0, so I'm happy enough with that.

Just did a quick 30 minute shoot and process for Music - not sure how it'll do.

No hope for Street though - it's too stinkin' cold out there.

I used to use the other name when I was programming. I don't do it anymore and don't plan to in the future, so my own name was available and I don't need to remember something I made up. LOL!

I had some options for biology but I think I'll pass on this one. I have one option so far for Street that my mom really likes. That's not always a good sign. I really like it too, which isn't always a good sign either. I'll be shooting some more for that, though.

Hang in there, Griz - you've still got a personal best going!!
02/13/2007 05:31:18 PM · #471
I am hanging. Still at 5.89 Thats so much better then my usuall 5.0 i am happy with it.
Cant think of anything for music or bio. I am going to try and get out saturday and get a street shot if the weather isnt too bad. I had what i thought was a good idea for a country street shot but with the weather its not going to happen.
02/13/2007 06:04:52 PM · #472
i had to miss the school days challenges but i have a few more shots on this
thread if anybody cares to leave some C&C,

good luck to all entries tomorrow. see you when street photography takes hold :-)

whew... I'm glad that's finally out in the open!

Kirsty, I'd love to see another team/tribe/pride/coven/clan here at Team Suck!

And Maxine, I love your poetry but still think you should comment on our photos. How about you just comment on MY photos and I will assume you commented on everybody's? :D :P

Actually, if you Google "Street Photography" and "Henri Cartier-Bresson" you'll get a "snapshot" of what the challenge is about.

Joey Lawrence has a real handle on it in its most stark and bleak mode, and that's pretty amazing when you consider he doesn't do much B&W.
