In the self portrait challenge, I got six 1's and four 2's, while I also got twelve 10's
Anyone else get such a big extreme between their top and low scores?
I would also expect a score of 1 to mean, didn't meet the challenge criteria.
Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic with my placing (especially for my first challenge entry), but as I didn't get any comments from the people that gave it a 1, I'd like to know where I failed in their eyes.
Any suggestions?

ONE person "understood" my shot. This is the perfect photo for "allow text next to the picture" because this kind of thing is just silly.

Richard,
A wide range with lots of lows and highs is to be expected from a photograph such as yours. You generated 30+ comments which says to me you excited people on both ends. Don't worry about the scores. I would prefer lots of comments and interest to my uninspiring submission.
Congratulations on your first challenge. Look forward to seeing more.

I still can't see how anyone could have rated your pic a 1 imagesloyola. As you know, I ranked you equal 2nd with my vote.
Must have sensed that you were another Fuji S602 owner ;)
18 1's and 10 8's - that's a huge difference.
I must admit, I enjoyed getting the comments the most. In fact for the new challenge "Speed", I think I have the perfect controversial picture in mind ;) |

I got almost the same amount of 1,2 and 3's as I did 9s and 10s, so I guess it hit me the same way too...and I wasn't even nekkid. :)

I was going through the self portraits. There seemed to be a lot more 1s in there than usual. Actually, my score went from 6.20 to 6.38 so there quite a few low-ballers (purposely scoring low) out there. I hink a lot of people thought their self-portrait was the best thing since sliced bread, and when they didn't get + 6 decided that everyone else's sucked. I dunno. Just a theory.

Im finding a rather curious voting trend. Photos that I submit for the sake of a submission...the ones I am not thrilled with...put no effort into...are the ones that score the highest. Hmmmmm |

Hey, imagesloyola, you got a 10 from me and thanks for not completing the puzzle before voting! Just a fat old grandma...with spare parts!

God forbid anyone around here do anything out of the ordinary!
All of those entries were solid and definitely didn't deserve one's or two's.
*sigh*
Que sera sera.
I didn't get around to voting on this round but I'd have given Anger Management and Bracelet high marks. |

My scores look very similar to yours Richard. I ended up getting 19 1's and 2's and 26 9's and 10's. Frankly, I am really surprised by how many people disliked my picture so much as to give it a 1 or 2, and I really wish at least a couple of those people had left me a comment telling me why. What could I improve for that particular person? A 1 or 2 is so harsh.
I didn't end up voting on your picture, but I really like it a lot. Great work.

thanks to all 300+ voters, i dont care about the rating/marks, what i appreciated most is the 30+ comments i received.. Negative or positive comments is very important to me, especially all the suggestions...I always remember this thing..."Arts is not perfect" and voters are subjective too...Once again thank you so much...GOOD LUCK TO ALL |
