yes it is as a matter of fact. i have words for this moron but no way to hit him ( or her ) with them... |
Well, you'll know who it is at the end of the challenge.
And anyway, as you said, if you like it, that's what matters.
Catherine, I'm going to make time to go see Jeanne. I'm up to 20 comments so far on my memento pic. :) I'll bump it again tomorrow to try to pick up a few more from the daytime crowd.
Hey, I'd appreciate some feedback on my most recent Where You Live pic. Does it seem a little tilted? All the measurements say no, but still. On the other hand, I have many shots that seem tilted one way or the other depending on where I move hy head relative to the screen.
Any advice would be much appreciated! :) As with most new techniques, I usually go a little overboard and then settle in.

Question -
How much difference does the title of a photo make for you? Does it impact you - or the score you give it - more if you like the photo, but not the title? Does a good title increase the score because it's clever? Because it enhances the meaning of the photo or intent of the photographer?
I'd like to know what others think.

The title means a lot to me, I try to think very hard when i submit as i think i may get hit on a vote if it is wrong. I also vote a point on the title. i think you need a great title to life a good photo, but a stunning photo will carry itself no matter what it is called but then were moving away from a DPC entry and i am talking about stuff like Juan Buhler and Ansel Adams.

levyj413 I sent paypal funds to you - not much, but I hope it can help.
The photos I put in are definitely not the same shot - as I mentioned they aren't even the same subject - so I should be okay.
I'm quite happy with the photos, and actually almost TOO eager to post some out-takes because I like them so well. I've uploaded those to my workshop so I can share them as soon as the low-key challenge is over.

Thanks so much to both you and Catherine!
If anyone else plans to send anything, including emailing a card or a photo, please send me a PM while you work on it so I know to wait for it. I hope to go over to the hospital this afternoon.
Thanks!

Hi all, news from the GWN (Great White North) ...
Well, Hate still loitering around 5.0973, while Trees inexplicably at 4.5440...sigh...wonder what kind of beating Acronym will take? ;-)
Noraneko - The fill flash I found was on PS Elements, not in-camera, is it still legal? Also, can't seem to find it in PS 8.0. Found a 'fill' feature but doesn't seem to be the same.
Argh - took about 300 shots for Ice and had to toss ALL of them - either blurry, or ice wasn't right, compositional problems, lighting...think maybe I'll try to shoot it outside...anyone else having fun with shooting Ice?
Just got a whole batch o' pix accepted by Fotolia today. Woohoo!
Gotta go vote now...have I made any intelligent comments for fellow Suckers?...hope so...

I don't think it is tilted ... I think it is an optical illusion of the large amount of white on the left of the dome and the large amount of dark blue on the right of it. White always looks larger than darker colours and I think that is unbalancing your (our) perception. Try making a tent over the pointy dome with your hands on the screen ... It seems to magically straighten up.

Sorry snaffles I'm not technically qualified to do other people's returns.
Personally - I drop $30 each year and buy TaxWiz. I don't work. My hubby only has 1 job. We don't have our own business or any investments. REALLY straight-forward stuff for us. Single T4, only credits for our rent and the kids.
I file online now too - it's SO easy. And gets the refund back faster too I've found.

Ok, I'm off to the hospital. Thanks to everyone, we collected $75 for flowers for Jeanne! I'm also bringing her an 8x10 of the photo with her ambulance and a printout of all the comments.
And my camera, of course. :)

Hey Jeff - I heard this rumor that you're going to Disney somethingorother. Is that true? :-)
Thanks VERY MUCH for being such a good bud to Jeanne. I know those of us who can't be there physically to help out are very glad that you are able to do so.
Have fun on vacation! (And no, I don't need any pictures of Mickey or Minnie, thanks.) |

BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AS WELL. SOME SLEET COULD MIX WITH THE
SNOW ALONG THE I 69 CORRIDOR. THE INTENSITY OF THE SNOW WILL VARY
SIGNIFICANTLY DURING THE PERIOD...WITH A COUPLE BURSTS OF MODERATE
TO HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED. TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH MIDNIGHT
SUNDAY NIGHT WILL BE 4 TO 8 INCHES...WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL OF
UP TO 10 INCHES EXPECTED IN AND AROUND THE TRI CITIES REGION.
Guess where I live! That's right, The Tri-Cities.

Well...at least you're all set for the ICE challenge. |

Okay, so here's what it's like to be a Team Suck perfect fit. The pic:
I found it too late for the tree challenge, I don't want to put in the Ice challenge 'cause it looks enough like a snowfield I'd have to hunt down the DNMCers and kill them 'cause the ENTIRE river is frozen the whole way across and that almost never happens, I don't think it's quite good enough for the Free Study and I already have an entry, so....
The only gratification I will get is the fact that I LOVE this shot and I want you guys to review it if you'd be so kind and enjoy it 'cause it was such a lovely serene end to a pretty terrific day.
G'nite to all of you, sleep well!
