Heh! It's fun though, isn't it? I'm still struggling to hang on to a 5.0 in Love (and it's not THAT bad), and will probably have about the same thing in Acronym. Still, I enjoyed shooting both pics, so I can't complain. |

Here is an image ESPECIALLY put together for you suckers.
The story is ... I went out in the drizzling rain yesterday (Sunday morning) to a park within walking distance with my umbrella to see what I could get on my SD card.
Well ... it works out that I did not get much of nuffin but some textures that I have been meaning to capture (bricks and bark and branches) except THIS shot which I dedicate to my fellow suckers.
I hope you like it.

That's too funny, Greetmir! As for your signature, I can't say. I've got this place set to not show signatures. Some of them are just too big and too flashing/flashy and I find they're distracting. |

hehe;) really funny photo! have you ever seen them upside down in water? they catch something under water and their "paws" are up and above water - the funniest thing ever!!:) |

I was talking about my signature graphically imprinted on the bottom right of the photo.

Yeah ... they are trying to get upright without losing whatever they have in their beak but cannot get "traction" on the air as they do get HUGE traction in the water ... it is, indeed funny. I have only seen that once but fell down laughing when I did.

Huge congrats to Darren on the ribbon! Beautiful shot. This is your second ribbon for a street photo, if I'm not mistaken?

Svetlana, did you attend the ceremony in Oslo for New Photog of the Year? What did you win???
Edit to add: I KNEW I should have pulled that acronym photo. 4.9. Ugh.

That is exactly the response I was looking for ... I was hoping it wasn't too gawdy.

My Acronym shot is doing worse than yours, 4.5 or there abouts, I dont know why though, its not that bad of a shot?
your right on the 2 shots ribons for street photography. so i guess i have to wait for a challenge where i can make street work for the theme...LOL

I had to go back and look for it - nicely done. Distinctive, but not overwhelming. |

So Darren (or anyone), would it have helped my score any if I had left my entry uncropped? There was a row of adults behind her about 10 people long all putting their coats on with their backs to her. I thought it was interesting and it was a public place (though not outside on a street).
uncropped
Just for the record, yes I do know the little girl. We were at a bowling alley where they have birthday parties for multiple children all at the same time. The place was extremely dark as they were using lighting effects for a "galactic" theme, so you couldn't get anyone from any distance. Most of the adults were just sitting around with bored expressions anyway.

kelli I left you a comment on your image below.
These are a couple of photos I took the same day as the street photo I ended up entering, and vacillated about which to enter. What do you all think?
I pulled this one because I wasn't sure people would associate it enough with the street genre
I pulled this one because I thought it was too much of a street cliche
What do you guys think? |

Thanks for the comments guys. I did state before the challenge I expected a lot of DNMC votes, so I wasn't surprised. |

Wow, whatta beating I'm taking on Acronym, LOL! Comment so far says 'don't think you're allowed to make up own acronym'. Why not? Didn't anyone else?
Time to read up on this thread then go vote - and Brookied, did I see you place 2nd in Street! Great work! |

Wow..just finished voting on Acronym...didn't leave many comments. Lots of complaints on the thread about Acronym scores, I think it's a bit ridiculous. Thank god I belong to Team Suck! ;-)
