I'm with you there. I've been out of challenges for a few weeks, but I have ideas for Night and Chains.

I do give in, all too easily. I don't like it the hard way too much...it hurts me usually. But then it hurts me whatever I do. I can't win, especially on DPC!

Hey Darren and Kelly, thanks for the comments on my Still and POP culture entries, I am a bit confused now though...you said you agreed with klstover on the tighter crop on the POP entry but she said she would like to see a looser crop, lol, anyway this is the original uncropped version I cropped it the way I did because I thought the window might be distracting...any thoughts?? Was I crazy?? Thanks again!!

Thanks for the comment!! and I feel your pain...I was expecting more from my Free Study as well...and I still have yet to receive even ONE comment on my Contre-Jour entry, oh well, onward and maybe upward?? Hope springs eternal...lol.

If it stays at 3.98 during voting I expect it would nudge over four after the turn. Lower scores tend to increase a bit, I have noticed. |

The only thing I notice about the damn scores is that they never go where you think they're gonna.
I sure as heck thought my FS was a shoo-in for a 6+, and I'll be surprised if it gets into the 5s now......BAH!!!

I think people do different things when faced with such overwhelming quality as is on display in FS.
One reaction is an immediate raising of votes across the board, so that instead of the one or two tens in yer average challenge, you have to hand out about twenty.
Therein lies a problem if one feels that the votes no longer offer any comparison between this glut of tens. So maybe you have to jack down some of the tens and leave only 'favourites' or 'winners' in the top spot - all relative to the field, of course.
And there again lies the germ of a tendency (common, I think, but I don't by any means think that everyone who does it does it deliberately, much less maliciously :)) to distribute evaluation on the usual bell curve or Gauss curve; all relative to the sample at hand.
Under the above circumstances, mid-fives and bare-sixes go down among the dead men.

I believe that makes me worm food. :-) But I despaireth not - I have a couple of good comments on my low-scoring FS so I'm content with it. |

My FS is at a 5.2, I got a 7 from  raish when he changed his 1 vote. LOL. I used my usual choice of subjects with my typical humor, so it's a typical score. (Anyone who's gotten to know me a bit could probably pick it out by the thumbnail.) IMHO, I do think most FS voting is harsh. |

Kashi you have really busted into that 6 territory! Way to go!
My FS score is doing nicely, but will not make top 20 (my new goal since the owl ended at #21 in January FS). Will probably crack top 30-40. We shall see. FS is so competitive!
