I love that. Although, it does have the effect of making me want to create a series of icons representing something of my own ... but I haven't seen too many apathy-type icons ;P ... I wonder why.

hawkeye, please only post photos here that have not recieved enough recognition yet. two of the photos you posted are in the top five and recieved very high scores... that doesn't quite fit in to what this thread is all about.

Meh, it happens.

Other people posted the #4 photo. My ribbons are awarded before the results are announced, so sometimes I will pick a high-scoring photo. I have a feeling two of my fill-frame ribbons will score high (though I've been wrong before).

I sympathize with you, though. I don't like seeing a lot of the slick stuff here either. So far, we've been mostly avoiding it.

But, since these are individual ribbons, c'est la vie.

Sorry, I saw the post prior to mine and messed up. I'm sure my recent scores will now drop because of it :)

But, did you look at the average vote for those who are Non-cameras on this shot??? 4.25!!! That is ridiculously LOW! This is where I think that those who are not picking up cameras themselves, and actually going to the trouble of figuring out, getting a shot, editing and entering it, cannot truly judge someone else's work. It's only in having to do it yourself that you truly come to appreciate the thought and effort that others go through and gives one a whole new appreciation for others' work!

And, we won't get into the non-camera votes and how many of the "vote onlys" may be "trolls". Such a shame!

I think you did a wonderful thing here in bringing this shot up in this thread!
