Day 7 -

Ok so here's the story with Hummingbirds (my top 2 scoring are hummers)... I do not go out of my way to get shots of hummingbirds, I am not a birder. They just happen to be in the same place as I when I go outside of work for a ciggy.
This guy here actually startled me he got so close...this was with the Tamron 28-75mm @ 75mm. |

A slighty different post treatment for me. I usually don't do the "grungy" look but the roads were so dirty, I thought it fitted the subject. Don't hesitate to comment as much as you like on it - I want to improve! |

I can't believe the quality of image my new camera is giving me in low light situation. This was hand held! The camera shake is barely inexistant. Sony rocks!! |

Because of where I live I have very limited internet access so will need to submit to this challenge each weekend but I'm determined to get a shot each day for my own personal goal.

Day 7
Some of you may have noticed I skipped Day 6... I had a long day yesterday managing a crisis at work (I am in charge of PR for my firm) involving the death of a person. I did not feel like taking pictures yesterday and it somehow feels wrong to post a picture taken on another day. This SC is about sharing a slice of my life - well yesterday, my slice of life made me not want to take a picture. Its just what feels right to me. |

Hi Guys!
Just thought I'd update those of you from the textures challenge on those weird cactus flowers I posted. They bloomed - for 24 hours before wilting. Hope you're all enjoying the slice of life!

Day 6
A walk in the park. Old film effect using some filters in PS. Still trying to master it.
Day 7
Still looking for that elusive perfect 'old film' look. This comes very close but in the initial steps I messed up a little and I was too tired for a do-over. I like the old grainy sepia look here but still a little off from what I had in mind. Close but not close enough :-)
Day 8
As bad as it gets. Bored. Un-imaginative. And shot from within my quilt with the laptop screen as the background. PP in under 90 secs. Yep, a very blah saturday which I tried to overcome with this book. A good read but a bad choice for today. I found it ironic to be reading a book on atheism with the book mark depicting religion (somewhat) ...
