After seeing Barbra's cool tire shop photo's. I took this on the way to work this morning. This is an tire shop that has been in Springfield for years but they just added a new paint job recently. They also play 50's music that you can hear when you are seting at the stop light. Kind of neat i thought.
Sorry for the poor quality it was cold and windy. i dont have anything but Ms picture manager here at work.

Wow, some of these photos are making me realize why I live in Southern California. It gets cold here sometimes, like in the 60s.
Of course, we have to drive to the snow or import it. You all have it on your doorstep. That must me nice. |

Actually ventured outside; it was cold (for Virginia)! Temperature dropped a lot from yesterday and it's windy as all get-out. Good thing I had a fast lens attached to the camera today 'cuz nothing much was holding still.
A two-fer: and .
Two views of the same tree in my front yard. If the weather is just right, these buds will mature into big, beautiful white blooms in early spring. If we get a freeze just before the buds open, I will have a tree full of drooping black buds, instead. Every year it not only grows taller but produces more buds. I think we had one flower the first spring, then 3 the next year, and then it started getting serious about putting on a show as it turned into a real tree. I used to put lights on it for Christmas but after last year's silliness using a rake to try and place the lights in the higher branches (and retrieve the lights afterwards without stripping off too many buds) I decided it's going to stick with nature's adornments from now on :-) |
