I think it does relate to when the count is made. Since some DQ's may occur even after the challenge ends, it seems the rank & percentiles should be recalculated to take this into account.
Prolly need code to trigger a recalculation for a challenge automatically after a DQ.

It must be something like that.
Look for instance at page 6 of the grace challenge: Grace page 6
Place 53 is somehow missing, leading to a difference in places and submissions.
If a submission is DQ'ed, should'nt this result in a decrease of the number of submitted images and everybody below the DQ'ed submission would be moved up one place?
