I love this shot.
We use to own a boat somthing like this but not as nice.
It reminds me of all the late night fishing trips we made.
Thanks for sharing

This one was cherry, just having come out of the shop for restoration and modernization. Notice how the height of the windshield has been increased. Wish I could afford such a toy. |

That is one sweeet boat!
We grew up along the St Lawrence River in upstate NY about 11 miles from the Canadian border. And we use to spend a lot of time in Alexandria Bay, NY (Coastal village on the river)it is somewhat a playground for the rich and poor. We use to go up there and just drool over the boats and Yachts as they came in from the islands :).
I went home one summer and we went up there for a seafood lunch.
When I was standing on the dock looking back into town I heard this heart pounding rumble coming into the dock area. I turned around and here comes a large red and white "Cigarette Boat" into dock. The name on the boat was "Medicine Man", when I looked at the driver I just laughed! It was our old family physican! He had retired on one of the islands on the St. Lawrence River! I just thought dang that is where all our money went, LOL
Sorry to chew up space in this thread just thought I woud share a little story.

This is a tough choice. Especially after viewing everyone's shots below. My "only a bit in a challenge as part of the triptych" favorite is "On Tip-toes"
My other favorite has to be this one, partially for getting the shot (with lots of help from BAMartin who made sure the puffin took flight) and partially for the whole trip it reminds me of. "We have take-off"

That puffin shot is pretty impressive. I know how hard those shots are because I've tried many times. Are we gonna see you in some challenges any time soon? I hope so. |

This is my favorite of the year, and my favorite photo to date... This photo is right out of the camera, untouched. It almost looks like a painting, doesn't it? It was taken January 9, 2003.
It is between the one above (first one) and this one...

I enjoy wandering thru the forums and portfolios finding some super images. Jacko's "Creature and Coin" was my WOW-look-at-that photo for this day. Nice! |

Linda,
I really like the chiurch shot, is the light beam real?
Have you tried running it through Neatimage? There is some noise on the archway that is no doubt due to the low light, but is a bit distracting. Also, how about cropping a bit off the top? Just suggestions, still a nice capture.

What a wonderful topic ! There's so many GREAT photos throughout this thread. hmmmm My all time favorite is Living on Faith (the homeless lady) but I used her in a challenge.
I'll say for this year it would be one of these;
Spring Blues
The Potters Shed
Blue Ford

It has a lot to do with my love of the beach and water and this location in particular where I grew up on the Hood Canal in Poulsbo, Wa. I actually used two photos of the same scene with slightly different exposures, one exposed for the sky and one exposed for the beach and shell and then combined them in PS.

I LOVE this photo. I grew up on the beach and I've never seen a beach scene from such an awesome and creative perspective. I would have to say this is one of my favorite photos from this site, and well, just ever.

I have taken so many photos in the past year that it's really hard to pick my best. I post only my best work to my web site at Literal Expressions.com.
This is one of my favorites though - it was fun to capture and required 4 hands to accomplish it.
