I've never organized a side challenge before, but I've just come back to DPC after a long absence and my best memories of the time I spent here before were the side challenges. And my favorites of THOSE were the general photo-a-day ones, not only because they motivated me to get out and shoot, but also because it's surprising how well you get to know people just by looking at 1/200th of a second of their lives each day for a month. I don't see one of these going on now and there isn't one planned for May yet.
Photos can be of anything, any editing style, etc. No wet-noodle beatings for people who skip days or bail out. Commenting encouraged because oh yeah, that was another of my favorite parts, but no wet-noodle beatings for busy people who don't do that, either. Anyone interested?

| I would love to do it - I can't promise I will be able to post every day (I am out of town May 11th - 17th) but I will try to carry my camera with me everywhere and will try to keep up. Maybe on the days I don't get a chance to take a new photo - maybe I will try to edit one from my archive. |

Teran, when the first of the month rolls around, there'll be a new thread (I'll link it from here) for our images. You upload your daily image to a folder in your profile (or Flickr or wherever, but profiles are easiest), and then you post a link to it, ideally with a thumbnail, in that thread. If you have time it's also nice to look at the shots other people are posting and leave comments on as many of them as you want to/can/have time to because we all know we have lives outside DPC too.

| With SoFoBoMo starting this month, I doubt I will have time to do a photo a month, but might post some of my photos from that to get some feedback on them if I get time...........its gunna be a hectic month |

| Hey Rachel, welcome back! I'll stop in and check out the image thread from time to time to see what you guys are up to. I'm already in another one for May, but may share a few here now and then, too, if that's OK. Happy shooting! And nice seeing both some familiar names and a few new ones. Like you said, these side challenges are a great way to get to know folks. |
