Ok, I know this is a competitive bunch, so for fun, and curiosity, let's see who has the fastest machine here... (I know it's not me, but when I get my next one, look out!)

So we can all test comparably, use GeekBench (Mac or PC). Only the 32 bit version is free, so let's just use that (even if you have a 64 bit OS, as I do).

Anyone want to play?

I'll start. Unfortunately, there's no easy "copy" of the summary, so you have to do a few cut and pastes to get a summary like this. Please include your system info...

Geekbench Score 4544
Processor integer performance 6183
Processor floating point performance 5002
Memory performance 2162
Memory bandwidth performance 1969

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Model HP-Pavilion KT608AV-ABA d5000t Motherboard PEGATRON CORPORATION Burbank
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz
Processor ID GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10
Processors 1 Threads 4
Cores 4 Memory 6.00 GB 800 MHz
Processor Frequency 2.67 GHz Bus Frequency 333 MHz
L1 Instruction Cache 128 KB L1 Data Cache 128 KB
L2 Cache 6.00 MB L3 Cache 0.00 B
BIOS American Megatrends Inc. 5.21

If someone thinks there's a better benchmark, let me know. By the way, it's easy to submit your benchmark results to GeekBench (create a free account there) and you can compare your score to a lot of other machines...but this thread is for DPCers only (and for fun). Now if we want to see who has the fastest "disk subsystem", I guess we can use HD Tune or something. But with my new SSD, I'll kick your butts ;)

Out of interest on your HDD, how fast are you getting it to go? Mine is a non-raided Intel x25-m & sits around 226MB/sec on HD Tune
Since the new Intel driver came out with TRIM inbuilt, it dropped down from 237MB/sec (bit disappointing, but at least it does the TRIM command)

i know... my 6 year old powerbook g4 has pitifully low scores, lets see if anyone can beat them!

This machine is now in its fourth year of use. Runs well, but I'm sure there are faster Mac Pros available. Has not slowed me down in any way. In other words, the software applications run as fast as I can review the images. When I upgrade cameras (imminent), I will consider upgrading to a new computer.

Incidentally, I have specifically chosen not to OC this board, so I know it won't win any contests. :)
Interesting, checking the 'similar system charts' for others with similar motherboards puts me mid-low. Others are getting 4.xx ghz and scores of around 12000... yikes.

Fun test. :)

I'm considering running it on my pda next... ;)

I have this del t5500

//www.dell.com/us/en/business/desktops/workstation-precision-t5500/pd.aspx?refid=workstation-precision-t5500&cs=04&s=bsd

They have written for max 72gb here in page.
I have around 48gb ram. (i need more though but i need more cores too).
