Batery is charging now.

Fortunately, the battery doesn't take long at all. Use the time to read your manual. Or maybe take a little walk cuz you know when the battery's all charged up you're gonna be sitting there for hours just playing ;-)

Sounds like you may end up near Cairns... You will absolutely love it here. Every thing happens at half the speed and slower as you move north. I grew up in Sydney and then moved here to Brisbane. Have fun and I hope you have plenty of photos to show us :)

I've just had mine a couple weeks. Now comes the REAL expenses! And losing sleep from late hours browsing websites reading everything about lenses. I finally decided on the Canon 75-300 with the IS thingie for the telephoto zoom feature and I'm loving it so far. Now I'm looking at macro lenses... and a camera bag.. and extra batteries... and more compact flash cards... and filters.. how-to books...and... and... and...

... oh and a second job :)

Whooohooo...
Just played around with it, took some 50 shots...
This camera is quick! (Well if you are used to a powershot a40 it is!)
And every picture looks incredible...

Just played around, look at this picture of my daughter...
It's so amazing that I can play with DOF, do nice macro etc...

I'm realy happy...
Will play more with it and will win a ribbon (when you are all on vacation at the same time) hehehe...

Congrats and welcome to the club! I remember waiting by the window for FedEx the day I was supposed to get mine. It was 4:28pm and I called FedEx to see if they will still deliver once they are late. She said "It's not 4:30 yet". lol... it ended up getting here just after 5:00pm.
