This is just ... impossible!
Look the difference between the two shots (1:42 and 1:43).
How can you possibly recompose the bottom right which is totally blurred.
This is a nice fake. Try to find an official post from adobe about this ... there's none.

Well, to be fair, this is a demo of a plenoptic lens, not a new feature of Photoshop. :) |

Nope, it's not. There is real research behind it, and as others have posted, it's really based on hardware *and* software, not just software.
Bottom line, what they don't cover is what you give up, namely a *lot* of resolution to get the DoF data. |

I was wondering about this just the other day. About five or six years ago there was a guy (who was from India but was doing research in California) who said he was going to try to develop a post-processing re-focusing program - and having just watched the video, maybe it's him speaking. |
