I considered "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" but I'm an environmental extremist :) Maybe "MLF Lullaby"? |
Then "Pollution" would seem a natural...or maybe "Vatican Rag" -- surely he's the only writer to rhyme the word transubstantiate in a song lyric...
Maybe it's time for "When You Are Old And Gray" |
OH Yeah! Who can forget lyrics like
"First you get down on your knees/ Fiddle with your rosaries/ Bow your head in deep respect/ Then genuflect-genuflect-genuflect-genuflect." ?
Or the song, The Old Dope Pedlar, who ends up "doing well by doing good."
or the song, "Smut" which says,
"As the judge remarked the day that he acquitted my Aunt Hortense,
"To be smut
It must be ut-
Terly without redeeming social importance."

I am just wondering, probably a lot of people are familiar with Lenard Cohen.
This is also a good challenge to get introduced to some new music (and by new I mean, something I haven't heard before).

I really agree but isn´t there a risk in taking a song that is unknown to most people? (If it´s important for you to place high)
Next week it´s probably impossible to vote someone down for not following the challenge.

Obviously it will be impossible to reach everyone with a familiar song. If you don't get it, then don't vote, rather than vote it down. This is a photography site: consider the photo.

I think that voters will have to trust that the photographer based their photo on an actually song. But that will be impossible to know for sure; maybe they base their photo on a song one of their friends wrote. Or maybe thier own song. =) |

I plan to type the lyrics into the additional info field when I submit along with "liner notes," so at least everyone can check it out after the voting*. If I can get it together, I'll also provide a link to an MP3 file...
*Unless admins want to allow that field to display during voting for this challenge... |

Just thought of a controversial photo: anything by Eminem. That would get people talking. =-)
I fear it wouldn't fair too well with voters though.
