| I'm waiting for some juicy press release, but none seem to be coming. Are they waiting for something? |

| Photokina is not until September. I'm sure they will have new product to announce before then. |

I'm betting that they will have some announcement prior to Photokina, but I'm pretty sure there will be no DSLR announcement during CES. For now, Nikon is taking center stage with the D4.
I'm hoping for a 5DIII announcement in Spring, and if it pans out, I will look carefully at whether/when I want to move on it. I really would like to be able to have two bodies for some events. Of course, I'd also like to have a camera modified for IR. Perhaps an older 5D body would be a good candidate.

| Hmm, well canonrumours seem to think before the end of March there'll be a 5d III announcement and possibly a 7d II or 3d announcement. |

In the highly competitive world of business I figured Canon wouldn't stand for Nikon to have the exclusive "new dSLR" spotlight for 9 months.

I would be *really* surprised if Canon waited until late Summer or Fall to make any announcements. I think that canonrumors probably has it right (they have a pretty good track record!) and if so, yep, we will see a 5DIII this Spring.
