This bird just visited my yard. Unfortunately, he was about 400 feet away in the woods, and I couldn't get any closer. So, I apologize for the crop. Anyway, I thought he(she) was pretty cool looking. Definitely the first time I've seen anything like this in person. I will keep a lookout for him in the coming days and weeks.

Good sighting. I've never seen one, but I know they exist. (partial albino)

do you have a local Audubon Society. Would they be interested in this image? |

Glad you were able to at least get a photo of it. That's very cool.
I have some photos of a half white buzzard. It seemed to interact normally with the other normal all black buzzards with it. There are a few maverick genes in bird populations.
Keep your long lens on and camera handy. You may luck up on it for a closer shot as you are out and about.

| Very cool. Albinism can and does occur naturally, but depending on the bird its colour can work for or against it. However snowy owls and other light-coloured birds of prey seem to do just fine, and this hawk obviously made it to maturity, so I'd guess it's in the clear. |

It was an albino post, so it didn't show up on the white background. You're posts are special.
