Stumbled across this news item today.
Sptifire Story
Made me think of the Spitfire memorial thread of a couple of years ago. Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

That is just... incredible. It's right up there with the (successful) excavation and restoration of a P38 Lightning from a glacier (Google "glacier girl").

Wow really do hope they manage to recover them ! such a wonderful aircraft, my favourite plane by far, built loads of these using airfix kits when i was a kid, along with lancaster bomber !
