After many missed submissions due to poor planning on my part, I have taken up the practice, for good or bad, to upload my first edit as a placeholder in case I have problems with my final edit.
In this case, I knew what I wanted to do with the image, but did not get the second edit up until 9:02 PM (Pacific)and missed the deadline. Here is #1:

I prefer the submitted one to be honest. I like the contrast more!
I was torn between entries and decided to try to appeal to the voters. My gut was telling me to just go with the one I prefered though, which was this.
Did I make the right decision?

| I think you did. The other has so many elements that the eye wanders, the one you chose draws more attention to the effect you were trying to portray, imho. |
