excellent read, great analogy. to get somewhere, you have to 1) keep going, and 2) pay attention to where you are. |

Speaking as someone who doesn't know which bus to get on, I'll have to stick to photographing them as they leave the bus station carrying all the real photographers... ;)

I've been to Helsinki a couple of times, but I never noticed the bus station. However, I have been to the train station and I found it quite weird in that although the trains come in from the north I always had the strongest feeling they came in from the south. Quite disorientating, but maybe it's just my southern hemisphere upbringing.
And I had someone to pick me up from the station so I didn't need to take the bus. I guess that's why my photography has no direction, too. |

Great read. I liked the analogy of a life's work to a trek up a mountain. I see that it was excerpted from a commencement speech; what great food for thought for those graduates.
Been to Helsinki, twice. Never to the bus station though. So I guess I've finally discovered why I sometimes feel that I've "missed the bus!" |

It certainly must be your Southern Hemisphere roots, the trains would have a few problems coming from the South :) Bus station is quite a grandiose term for what is in fact about 4 bus stops grouped together.
Good read though. |

Love it! The part about the mountain is also quite profound. |

"So, be the caretaker of your vision. Make it famous. And above all, remember, that art is risk made visible."
Bingo! |
