i haven't used it in over a year and when I took it out the focusing part (sorry I don't know the correct terms) is jumping. It's the image stabilizer motor I think. I tired it on other cameras but it's the same - a jumping back and forth like it's trying to focus.
Has anyone else had this problem and most importantly, how much did it cost to get fixed - any ball park figures appreciated. Canon won't give me an estimate and there is no use sending it in right now if I can't afford to fix it. It's the older lens, not the new one.
Any help appreciated - thank you - Maggie |

First thing to do is clean the contacts on the lens. Take a soft pencil eraser and gently rub them, then brush away any particles. |

The cleaning of the contacts with an eraser didn't work .. so I am still wondering if someone else had the same problem with this lens and how much it costs to have it fixed. Thanks - M. |
