Just wanted to thank the powers that be for making the Red challenge minimal editing. I'm purple with pleasure. ;)

Can't even crop in minimal. No RAW images either.
Just in case anyone was interested.

Thanks for that reminder about no RAW and Cropping, I would have forgotten to change my settings :-))

So what you're saying is there may be a challenge where I might be able to go through the whole list of entries while voting without seeing an egregious amount of HDR?

Can this be true?!

Forgot about having to shoot in JPG. Probably not going to change my settings just to enter this challenge. (In my opinion, the difference between Minimal and Basic is that the camera makes the decisions for you...)

Shooting jpg, I can live with. No pp except straighten, resize and sharpen? Fine. HDR is anathema to me so don't worry Garry, you won't burn your retinas looking at my entry if I get one in...*trying to ignore that Red is also the ex-bf's nickname*

But STILL the *no cropping* rule remains. When will this end?! :-(

NO straightening in Minimal -- you can rotate in 90° increments only.

Why the heck not? Just go to the menu and select RAW+JPG and you're good to go. As for the "camera making the decisions for you", it's actually the opposite, or ought to be. Shooting for minimal editing is best accomplished thoughtfully and in full manual mode, with strict control exercised over WB settings and how much contrast and saturation you want to dial in for the given shot. You can get away with auto mode in RAW, with Photoshop, but with ZERO processing you have to be pretty careful...

The last time I shot JPEG was 2006. I don't even know what the best in-camera settings are for my current camera.
