Any good free downloadable software for basic pp?

Hey all

Don't have access to my Mac and PS CS5, but want to be able to do basic pp and resizing (shooting RAW and fine jpgs) What out there is a good, basic free downloadable software suite that won't eat all my storage space?

If you end up using a Windows computer I recommend IrfanView for basic editing ... I like it for its ability to quickly preview a folder of images and its easy-to-use batch-processing interface.

its free photoshop. if you know Photoshop its pretty easy to use, at least from what i remember. I used it before i started using Photoshop full time and the switch was just about seamless.

Yes, I am impressed by what it offers! May be a little more than what I need so I'll look at Irfanview too. Something along the lines of PS Elements, which I used in the past.

Bear in mind that GIMP doesn't support RAW formats natively and relies on plug-ins, so you might want to look at the open-source RAW processing applications, PhotoFlow, darktable, RawTherepee
