I've recently gotten back into film photography (medium format). I had a respected photography company in NYC scan my first roll, but the results were so horrific (heavily cropped, crooked, poor color, unexpectedly low-res) that I'm looking into scanning my own film.
Any tips on scanners/techniques? |

I quit scanning in favor of capturing with a DSLR. For 35mm, this works famously with the right setup. For Medium Format, a little more challenging. For an overview of what to look for in dedicated scanning hardware, I'd start reading here. Also take a look here.
Whatever scanner you choose, I highly recommend VueScan. |
