I'm planning to post a video on my YouTube channel about the many, MANY, fake photos of the eclipse on the Internet today (domye of them are montages while others are AI). Now I have two requests: first, if you have shots the eclipse and you'd like to be featured in the video, please send me one of your pictures. Second, if you find some incredibly fake photos, please share the link here. I guess I found enough of them, but I'm sure there's still garbage to be seen... LOL

I'd like to post the video in 6-7 hours, so the deadline should be around 7pm, CET.

So fake eclipse photos are a "thing" then? I guess I should have known :-P
I do have some (actual) photos, however I won't meet your timeline for having anything processed, as I am working today. Photographically, our location was not ideal, as we had a high thin cloud layer that obscured coronal details. I did get some nice images of the prominences though.

We only had 30+% coverage in this area -- not that inspiring but "documentary. This is unprocessed, from around maximum coverage for this area -- you're welcome to use it if useful.

This is the photo of the eclipse I took yesterday in my backyard. Nothing special, we only had 60% coverage, and this was not even at the peak, but fairly representative

But today I took a few more, and I got both totality and the diamond ring! (they are technically real photos, both conforming to the Standard Editing ruleset, almost straight out of camera)

This last shot illustrates my method

:))))

Thanks Guys, I'll use them :)

Fritz, since I'll post the video tomorrow, if you have yours, I could use them.
The video was longer than my usual ones (around 15 minutes) so I needed more editing on it.

I was a *tad* bit disappointed, after looking forward to this since 2017, meticulously planning, carrying tons of photo equipment onto a plane, traveling 1,500 miles, and so forth, only to wind up with overcast skies for totality :(

After totality, we had a few moments of breaks in the sky, but I was REALLY looking forward to totality. It was cool that it got completely dark out for those four minutes, though. We were in Uvalde, TX, which was almost right on the center line. Oh well, 2044 will be here before we know it!

Alan, sorry to hear that you got clouded out! Had weather gone with the statistics, I would also have been near Uvalde with another old DPCer. Based on forecasts, I wound up east of Indianapolis. We had decent weather, but not great photographically for totality.
Not waiting for 2044 (I'll be 85 if I'm not taking a dirt nap). I'm planning on using an eclipse as an excuse to travel :-). Looking most closely at Australia for the eclipse of July 22, 2028.

For something slightly different... an approach that carries no risk to your eyes and only requires a colander, or something similar which acts as an array of pinhole cameras.

At the 2017 eclipse I got something similar when the partial eclipse of the sun and the holes in a window blind which the cord ran though lined up and created a series of images on the floor

ETA: Excuse the sloppy editing where I removed a shadow...

We have been seriously talking about Spain in 2026 or the Australia one, too! It doesn't take a lot to encourage me to take a trip :) Not to mention that Covid screwed us out of an Australia trip in 2020...

I had much better luck* this time than 2017, when I drove across the country to get rained on.

*By "luck," I mean willingness to go to Texas, Indiana, New York or Maine on 1 or 2 day's notice.

Great captures Shannon!
You did have good viewing, I can tell by the amount of fine detail you were able to get in the corona! All my fine detail was obscured by high cirrus and haze.
That said, totality was visually/perceptually amazing. My nephew was with me for his first totality, and he was blown away.

Hadn't made any specific plans as I have no idea what I'm doing with this kind of event....

There were clouds, and I was just screwing around shooting thru a welding helmet.

I think it's kinda cool, albeit nothing really special.

This one I have no idea what happened, but I like it...

I really like that first one Jeb...
