It is very good information. This technique is also very useful in a more general sense. Any time you want to check for over/underexposed areas in a photo, just select the area of interest and look at the histogram.
I'd also recommend expanding the histogram view to show the individual RGB plots. that way it's easily apparent which channel(s) is/are overexposed.
