this shot, which i'd really appreciate any comments on: it actually achieves something I've been trying for for ages - curious to know whether others can see it.

pigeon shot here - it's a good one!

BTW, hatching is due any day now.

nice pigeon shot. the eyes are very intense. i'm not sure what you were trying to achieve with the first shot, but i'm glad you did it whatever it was. i'm just not really sure what the subject of the photo is since im not familiar with the buildings. the colors are very dull and it isn't that interesting. all i could think of was that you accomplished getting a good view from up on the roof. :) maybe it has something to do with the wierd looking perectly circular cloud or the s like pattern of the buildings. well, im curious now.

You have me stomped too. Were you trying to take a photo of blue skies over london? ;)

I like the pigeon.

It's a great picture. How about toning down the sun and picking up the shadows? The pigeon is beautiful, and you did a good job getting the picture. Do you raise pigeons, and what kind are they?

this thread explains. As to what kind - ordinary flying-rat type London pigeon I fear.

Wow. Creepy. A city shot, where this isn't a person or car anywhere to be seen. Looks lonely that way. Different. I like it.

The pigeon shot is great - great eye detail and nice composition. I love the pattern of light and shadow on her body and head. I'm not sure about the way her tail feathers are just cropped out of shot. Great image though!

The East London shot does absolutely zero for me and I am curious as to what you were aiming for on that. Compositionally I dislike the horizon line being so centred in the image. I also can find no particular point of interest or focus. It's unusual in that it does show London in the sunshine but unless it tells a story that I'm just not getting, I have to say that it really doesn't appeal at all.
