Since I know for a fact that I'm the only person in the "Off Center" challenge who doesn't have a comment (I commented on *all* of the shots in the challenge, so I know everybody else has at least one comment!) I feel qualified to whine about the fact that I haven't had a single comment yet :)

Hi alan.
It's early....Monday 10:46 PST!
:-)

So far you are my ONLY commenter and I can't vote yet because I'm burning cds as I have to reformat my computer today - you will likely have an off-center comment from me as soon as I can get back up and running.

Whoops. Was about to say that the one comment I had wasn't from him (somehow I thought Mavrik initiated this), but now I see it IS from alanfreed, who is in fact the person who spoke first, so I'll just stand here and look innocent.

I just commented on one (1) photo in this challenge. Seeing there are 138 submissions, your odds seem very good. ;-)

I have 2 comments! And here I thought Alansfreed commented on mine because he liked it so much he was compelled. My other comment is from my husband. : )

I commented on two photos...

heh I don't have a comment from Frisca yet! *cry*

allow me to comment right now, and I'll share:

"Your picture looks a little blurry, and out of focus. Did you use onboard flash? It looks like a snapshot, and I'm not sure your subject is *really* off-centre."

;-)

Two words.

"luv you?"

Oh, by the way, I decided to vote using just your thumbnail. ;) That way it only takes 1 second to figure it out.

I think EVERYONE voted on just my thumbnail last week. ;)

Has any thumbnail ever looked worse than my Office Art one?

(I know we're stealing the thread, but nobody has comments, it's 2pm on Monday)

That's a nasty thumbnail for sure ... and ya made me look & read the details ... rofl : )

Edit: Just started reading the post-challenge comments ... it gets worse!

Implying you think you should have had a better score? you predicted a 5.7, but got over 5.9...or were you just being modest? :)

4 comments so far by the way. at this rate it'll be my highest tally yet. Myscore seems to be flirting with staying over 6. yikes.

I've gotten around to commenting on 30 so far, and voted on all of them. Here's hoping I have time to do some more before voting's over..

@bod that has to be the funniest comment on any of my pictures, ever. lol I got a bod ribbon! YAY

It was the lighting that reminded me of you, so I posted about it. Then Kavey made fun on it, so I figured I'd finish it off right.

And if you think that's the worst pun ever on dpc, let crab at your portfolio when he's in a mood. lol

Think of my comment as both "liking it so much I was compelled," and as "an attempt to comment on all photos this time around!" :)

Here I'll contribute. hum hum .... Nice pic. Good luck. :)

I've commented on 51 already, you'd think i'd've gotten to yours. Thanks for your comment on mine, at any rate.

Martin

Edit: Isn't it kind of frustrating when your score drops a sizeable chunk with the addition of one vote, and yet the comment count remains the same? I've gotten 6 comments, all of which said they'd given me a high vote, and yet I can observe in almost real-time someone placing a low vote and just going on.

For instance: A little math math shows that someone just gave me a two without leaving a comment when the vote count changed from 50 to 51. Doesn't a two merit a comment?

Sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining here. What someone votes is completely their own prerogative, but unless I know why they vote the way they did, especially if it was a 2, I'll never be able to improve my work to suit their taste.

Ok, big edit. I'm done now.

10 comments..... all good but pointing out the same thing my wife pointed out.... 'nope, I'm leaving it as it is' I said... note to self, listen to wife more often!...... score.... not good, not good at all..... well, for what I think the picture should rate anyway..... worse than that is I went back through all my images and found one that was soooooo much better.... don't know how I overlooked it!

It is going to be a long week.....

Perhaps I'll go shoot a self portrait of me staring at my abysmal score!

Malokata. You don't really know that you got a 2 from that one person. They COULD have given you like a 5, and someone that has already voted could have gone back and lowered the score they gave you from a 10 to a 7 or something. This would equal out to looking like that one person had given you a way lesser score, when in fact, both scores were actually just fine.

Woo hoo -- I got a comment (thank you FranziskaLang :)

I'm not really seriously ticked at people for not leaving comments this early in the week... I just figured I'd be the first to start this weekly thread on the subject :)

Malokata, I know we post our photos here for the judgement of others, but I think it's REALLY important that the pictures are taken for ourselves... other people's feedback (and scores) is to try and keep you objective. The moment an artist creates for other people, all is lost!
BTW, thanks for your comments on my pic (I won't say which one)... very thought provoking!

Oh, I do agree - I was just trying to stay in the spirit of the "No Comments" thread.
