My 10D was recently dropped and repaired by Canon. Since then I have moved back to Canada from Japan. The new batteries I have bought and recharged fully only last for less than an hour & I am wondering is it because of how it was repaired. Or is it because the charger (even though it says Canada is fine for recharging with that charger) can't take the Canadian voltage. Anybody have any ideas???? |

Is your old canon battery that came with the camera faring any better?
I have heard some people mentioning battery problems before, but not with the 10D. Some 10D owners who switched over to the 20D found that their grey market batteries were no longer charging with their 20D charger. They would charge fine with their 10D charger.
Not sure this is of any help, but ya never know. |

Look at the part of the charger that plugs into the wall, it should say something like:
Input: 100-230VAC, 50-60Hz
If your input voltage (should be nominally 110-120VAC in Canada) is within the range, then the charger should work properly. I believe your charger should be compatible with both 110V/60Hz (Canadian & US Standard) and 220V/50Hz (Asian & EU standard) power.
