Well, I did my editing yesterday and then went to bed after saving. Got up this morning, decided I didn't like it. So, I started over from scratch and sent it in. |

Anybody can log in to Neil's site and vote, the voting will start as soon after midnight as we get the images up (possibly as late as tomorrow morning) and run, I think, through 6 PM Sunday.

Okay, the competition is closed. 13 entries were received by deadline. Nshapiro has this them and, hopefully (if he didn't fall asleep) is posting them as I type.
Good luck to all entrants.

Alright, here we go! Thanks for the donated hosting and the time expended posting, Mr. Shapiro.
Voting will remain open until 6PM Sunday Jan 15th. Anyone may visit the site to vote. Contestants are allowed to vote. I'll determine the winner Sunday night and announce it here. The winner has the honor of donating an image and "hosting" the next go-round.
Kadi, who had been entered in this one, had to withdraw for time/travel reasons, and she has asked to be included in the next round. As the outgoing host, I'm reserving a spot for myself as well :-)
Cast your votes for Round 4 here!

Incidentally, the eerie similarity I was referring to was the early preponderance of very similar, square crops. I'll post up my own version of this shot here on Sunday; the original is "Image 14" on the hosting site.

wow everyone has a good idea of what they wanted to do with the original, nice job! Mine was a quickie, 30 minute job. Not because I'm lazy, but I dont really know what to really do with the original - it was a tough photo to begin with (gee, thanks Robt) :) Hope nobody can spot which one it is :p

I too want to wish everyone the best of luck! As well as saying thank you to Neil, for providing a place to host this and 'Bear' for providing the image.
What I found interesting when I went to place my votes, was the variety of visions for this image. I look forward to reading what steps were used in editing, by those that care to provide it. These contests are a great way to learn, not only more about editing, but also how each can see the same image and yet have such a difference in vision.

I didn't even think of cropping the original. Not sure why. I didn't follow the previous contests so didn't know of the precedent.
How do we vote Robert? I couldn't find any reference in the original message.
Duh. Never mind. I see it now. ;-)

Interesting - have voted, and think that there is an interesting variety in these shots. I would be interested in joining a future round, if feasible.
