Voting is underway and will run until 6PM Sunday Jan. 15h DPC time. All may vote, but only once. To view the images and/or cast your votes, go here.
*****************
Okay, folks, I've been tagged as image provider for this round of the contest. Rules as follows:
1) A full sized, unedited JPG image will be emailed to those who sign up.
2) You are to edit the photo to make it "gallery quality", per the DPC advanced editing rules, but a bit more relaxed on the major elements rule. I will "reject" any image that does not meet "my standards" on the ruleset. I will notify the submitter telling him/her why I did so, and s/he will have time to "fix" the image. I do not expect to have to do this; no entry in the previous 3 rounds has seemed excessively manipulated to me. Nevertheless, the idea is to use the image as is, not to add or subtract truly major elements, OK?
3) There can be up to 15 participants.
4) You will have 2 days to edit the photo, at which time you are to email me a reduced version, no more than 640 pixels in the longest dimension and no more than 150KB. Please keep a record of your editing steps to share with us when the contest is ended.
My email is on my portfolio: please make subject line "DPC Editing Contest"
5) I will post all received submissions within 24 hours in a gallery that permits anonymous rating and non-anonymous comments
6) The time allowed for voting will be 2 days.
7) After 2 days, the winner will be announced. The winner gets to pick the next photo and run the next round, and so on.
Thus far we have the following requests to participate. I have not trolled back through all 3 previous threads, so please remind me of earlier "claims" ASAP. I will try to give priority to those who have previously asked to participate but have been too late to make the list. Also, of course, post your name up here if you wish to be in this one but have not previously asked to participate.
To help you make up your mind whether to participate or not, the image you will be tackling is a highly-detailed winter landscape with bare trees, branches, grasses etc.
Let the Games begin!

Updated entry list in first post this thread. 5 slots still available. Send your requests or post them here. First come, first served, although I reserve the right to bump to the top of the list for these 5 spots others who have not made the cutoff in the previous three contests, if they make their requests in a reasonably timely manner.
This will probably launch tomorrow evening, possibly Tuesday evening, depending on promptness of responses. I'll be asking all entrants to e-mail me a "request for image" with a specific header on it, so I will have the e-mail addys for each participant all with the same header.
I will also at that time give you a header to use for submitting your edited image. Remember, the edited image will be done to "DPC norm"; that is to say, 640x640 max dimension, 150kb max filesize.

Okay, We have 15 entrants. I had to leave a couple out. I had emials and posts here crossing each other, I tried to figure out which preceded which. The site host has asked me to limit it to 15 entrants, is why the cutoff. My apologoes to those couple who did not make it in.
Here's what I need you to do now:
Each of the 15 of you please send me an email with the subject line "(username) DPC contact" ("skyarcher DPC contact", for example); it is not clear to me from many of the mails which mail corresponds to which username, as they are rarely the same. I'll collect these mails in a folder, make a master list, and use that for getting the original out. I'll include in the mailing of the original the deadline for receiving the finished version.

Maybe you could upload the file and then PM all of us with a link? I have a server you can put it on if you need to, let me know if you want

A server that can hold how large an image? I am delivering a full-sized, quality-8 jpg to stay under 2 Mb so most email can receive it. I could upload a full-sized TIFF file straight from RAW... Although this might be a problem for people with dialup...

There's plenty of free space. I'd guess the JPG would probably be better also, maybe quality 10 or 12 because it'd still be smaller than a .TIF.
I'll send you a PM with how to upload it.

Is it possible to send a "bulk PM" to 15 people at once? I've never tried...

Nope, the PM system will only take one recipient at a time. I think "bulk PM" is when I've had too much for dinner, LOL.

Then, in that case, thanks madman but I'll just stick with the email route; I can nail all that with a single mailing. The 8-quality full-size original is fine since downsizing will be used anyhow.

I am still lacking 2 email addresses to kick this off; I have PM'd both asking for response. Please note also revised participant list in first post; Britannica should have been on the list to begin with, and I can find no username or post by "Justin Bryant". Nor have I had any mail from "him". Nor do I have a clue how his name got on the list in the first place.
I'm probably completely out to lunch in his case; if he shows up in here or in my mail in a timely manner I'll add him as a 16th participant. It's probably the "real" name of a different username, but I can't find the info.
Let's GO, people!
