I bought this camera a while back. I have a question regarding the speed the camera takes to take a picture.
My camera seems to be slow at taking pictures. I was wondering if anyone knows if its because of the camera itself or do I need to adjust some settings I'm not familiar with? Any information is greatly appreciated! :)

You will always have some small delay between the time you press the shutter and the time the picture is taken. You can minimize the time by prefocusing. Push the shutter button down halfway to engage the autofocus, then wait for the "moment" and press it the rest of the way. This is called pre-focusing; since the camera doesn't have to lock focus before firing the shutter, it fires much faster.

The c5050z has a bit of a lag, yes, but it's not much. It's normal (for that camera). It's a good camera BTW, really excellent (IMO).

Are you shooting in RAW? The write speed on my Olympus SP-310 is painfully slow when in RAW, but completely normal in SHQ jpeg. |
