I have a favor to ask of all CC members. Please join me on the Critique Club page for a new look and don't forget to select a photo to critique while you're there!
Let me know what you see, and what you think!

Rats, edit to add that it looks like there's a bug selecting a photo...but check it out anyway.

Hbunch - love the concept, but (er) a couple of mistakes...

You haven't critiqued any photographs in the past two weeks. Your last critique was on February 22 2006.
Feb. 22 was yesterday, when I did two (wednesday) and I know I missed a couple of days, but not (gasp) two weeks!

Since your first critique on September 7 2005, you have critiqued 172 out of the 174 photographs you have selected.

I critiqued all the images I selected, but two wouldn't go away and we "fixed" them by having me enter the critique two times and you deleted one.

Okay, getting all the little minor corrections out of the way, here's my comment (excuse the raised voice) ...

That's why I wanted to know what ya'll were seeing. Something new=bugs. Will pass the info along to lang...thanks.

Also, sfalice, oddly enough, it's not the 2 we fixed that it's not registering. Not sure what's going on with that, I checked and the 2 it's not counting have in fact been critiqued. Just wondering if they might have posted though after a changeover. will look into that also. thanks agian.

sine all I could do is axcess poker (cuz DPC CC keeps crashing this PC) is play poker I just lost a sh!t load of money. Probably more money then people have invested in their houses and man am I bummed. 172K. Gaddamn. Anyways on a more positive note I did get my new machine but oh man am I too pissed off to use it. Now I see why Pat Burns smiles when he's upset.

edit to add: yes it was live/real money. Tourney style.

HBunch - That was a nice - and quick - fix. The stats are restated a little from the original language and are easy to read. And I do like the randomly generated Club Critique.

This has to be the non sequitor of the year.. missed your meds again?

I agree, I don't usually associate the word "axcess" with $172,000...

I like the new page, info like this is helpful and motivating. However, a few suggestions:

1. How about a dynamic "top 10" critiquers of the last two weeks?
2. How about a public page where members could look and see who the active folks are, or click and see other images that have been critiqued?

Hbunch - yesterday, the message on the screen read that I had critiqued 10 out of 10... Then I did another. So, after adding that one, the message read that I had critiqued 11 out of 11..., which I thought was a nice, quick, summing up. But this morning, when I went to do my "daily critique", this was the message that greeted me:

You have critiqued 9 out of the 9 photographs you have selected in the past two weeks.Your last critique was on February 24 2006

I expect it will all settle down soon and perhaps this is just another little bug.

When we say last 2 weeks, we literally mean it. :) You must have done 2 critiques two weeks + 1 day ago that just dropped off last night.

How long are photos maintained in the critique queue? I requested critique on an image almost two years ago and still have not received it!
02/25/2006 11:27:39 AM · #18
I think this is a great update to the Critique Club page. It showed me how slack I have been so I knocked out a couple whilst I've been in there! :) Well done!

This is awesome. I think it will keep people motivated by seeing their own progress. Great idea!!

The "featured random" critique showing up on this page right now is a one line comment by troberge on the following pic:

No offense to troberge intended, but is this really a CC comment?? If so, is there a need for some quality assurance? There's nothing in the comment itself to indicate that it's a CC comment, and the depth of the critique certainly doesn't warrent it. By showing up on this page, I'm assuming it's a genuine CC comment. Is it, or is it a bug??

I totally have to agree. I start all of my critiques off with:

From the Critique Club:

and I send a PM letting them know it was done:

From the Critique Club: Your "image" from the "challenge" challenge has been critiqued.

Another one featured today, on this image:

This is a 2.5 year old image. Is this really a CC critique (by this member?)?

Past 2 Weeks Statistics
119 photographs have been critiqued by 29 different members.

There are 209 requests currently.
Overall Statistics
...
There are currently 271 members of the Critique Club.

Gee, if every Critique Club member would critique one image, we'd be fighting over the last few to keep our own stats up!

BTW, can everyone see these stats? or are the CC members special?
