Well, to be honnest, I got it yesterday.
Comming from a 350D the change is not that big, but it solved some problems I had with the 350D.
The bigger display is sweeeet, it is realy large (well 5D users know that allready)
Now back to the manual ;)

We may be the richest conuntry on earth, but good luck on spending that wealth on the new 30D!
I too am waiting and waiting and waiting as the rest of the world forges ahead and we are left behind.
that's ok, i'll go burn up another tank of gasoline just to spite them!

is the shutter as loud as the 20d? |

I've had mine for a few days now, but am too busy with other matters to use it yet. It feels very light and dainty to me compared to the 10D. The rear of the battery grip is smooth (untextured) plastic too. I bought it for the spot meter though and am sure I'll get used to this lady. |

I think it is. It's louder than the 10D. |

It's been out here in Canada since last Saturday :)
Aaah.. now you feel what the rest of the world feels like since most of the time it's you guys that get everything first :)
I'm sure it'll be there in no time..
It's worth the wait

I got the Dutch version here in Holland just yesterday.
It was available for sale from last monday for 1499 Euro body only, but that price was too steep for me (Especialy because canon said it´s 1300 Euro body only)
So I waited 2 day´s more and got it for 1200...
Not a bad price..
Problem is that I realy wanted to enter Deja Vu, but I got sick and am in bed now... No energy to go out and shoot today...
I realy bought it for the Quick Dial. I handeled a 20D in a studio once and was sooooo jealous of it, so I promised myself that I would upgrade to the 20D upgrade.
I am very hapy with it, AF is soooo much better then the 350D and the 2.5" display is just WOW!
Edit: Sorry, I am sick and drugged, so mistakes can happen

Nooo!!! I have felt like the rest of the world most of my time... I live in Mexico City, and I am sure the 30D won't be here for a long time, and when it hits the stores everyone will want to charge $2,000 or more just because they think buyers are stupid. I am just willing to have the camera available in the US to see if a friend (traveling there) can bring one to me... I don't want to wait without a camera too long :( |

MkII? Unless you shoot sports, go for the 5D. Less money, more image.

Only if you need the increased image size. If you never print above a 16x20, then why mess with all those bigger files. Plus the 1d is the same chip and is weather sealed.
Only reason I'm getting rid of my 1D Mark II is the ad agencies want large files...

I guess that you would love the 5D, knowing that you have only good glass and all will work on full frame.
Now with the 300 EUro Cashback on the 5D you can have it for 2100 euro if you look at the right places.
If you dont need the 5 frames/s the the 5D is better in every respect.
Better high iso, lots more pixels and way cooler...
And you GOT to have a better cam then that Kiwi that lives with you, dont ya?
The 30D wont do that, the 5D will...

Is that what that is? Hmmm, in a battle to the death between Hamtaro and Furby, who would win?
I know you know I was being sarcastic about the improvement, Philos. But I do expect to see an elevated level of awesomeness from you now. ;-) |
