Alrightâ�¦Iâ��m going to jump on the band wagon of Giving. I will give a membership to a registered memberâ�¦who has entered at least 20 challenges. I will do this as soon as I am chosen by 100 people as a favorite photographer. Almost there so if you want the free membershipâ�¦and have the 20 minimumâ�¦then post why you deserve it and I will choose.

Edit: In the spirit of this giveaway I'll donate a free membership when 200 people send me 20 dollars each. After I get the 4 grand I'll give the membership to a registered user; as long as s/he owns a Hasselblad.

I'll also do this...sounds like another good idea...but I won't be as stringent as to require a Hasselblad...only a Canon 5D.

Alrightâ�¦I just wanted to state that Iâ��m not trying to buy people off to pick me as a favorite. I just got a Yahoo Instant Message from someone who saw my Yahoo screen name on my profile. They were kinda ticked off at what I was doing. I did post this thread half as a light hearted jokeâ�¦and the other half serious. Iâ��ve seen a lot of threads lately that are giving memberships awayâ�¦which I have nothing against and actually am all for. I did it to kind of poke fun at those threads but at the same time giving away a real membership. Since word of people giving memberships out I wanted to join inâ�¦but didnâ��t want to do it some normal wayâ�¦so this is my way. I donâ��t want anyone who doesnâ��t like me as a photographer to click me as one of their favorite photographers. I will give away a membershipâ�¦maybe even sooner than I have stated. So back to the threadâ�¦itâ��s realâ�¦just might take a bit longer that other ones doing the same thing.

I always thought there was an express elevator to this floor. Also, he's just poking fun at those that like to solicit compliments and/or favs. Personally, what's $25 dollars anyway?

Like I said I'm not asking for anyone to choose me...just said when I do get to a hundred...that's where you are supposed to laugh...then I will give someone a membership. I didn't do it so I would get a quick 80 favorite votes....many of the other threads that post on this subject are over an done with in a matter of days...this might take 5 years with the way I'm going...insert another chuckle there. Personally I would also think this would be a very low and demeaning thing to do if I were trying to get people to check me as a fav photog...just thought it would be funny...the first few responders thought it was. O-well...for some people its hard to find humor in anything.

Edit one more time...maybe it was in poor taste...didn't mean for it to be or to make anybody hate me for it...but I will still give a membership away when I can think of a different means of doing it....or I could just do it...but where's the fun in that?!?

i see the humor, don't worry. But I think it is funnier how very very far you are away from 100 favorite photographer nods. Now that would a challenge. Seems I have been hovering around the 80-90 range forever. Giving away a membership is a nice gesture. But I see slight implication you are going with, in the humorous quest....

No matter what you do in life there will always be negative people. If you found out you only had 5 years left to live...would it really bother you whether someone gave away a membership for 100 faves or not.

Forget about what others are doing and live life to the max.

Tomboy...you are a great person with a heart of gold. Cute too, I might add. If you want to give away a membership, then do so. Don't let the negative people in life destroy your desire or your sense of humour. What matters is what you want to get out of life. And if after you have gone, somebody remembers this thread and the humour that you tried to put into it...and the enjoyment that someone got out of your free membership...then that's great. I am sure that will be remembered before somebodys warped way of thinking.

Text is difficult when it comes to expressing your true feelings...but we know you are a bit of a comical person...so we understand where you are coming from. Forget about everyone else....and just enjoy yourself.

I'm really only adding to this thread to equal out the Canon/Nikon balance. That being said, I think that Tom was trying to get at setting a point in the future, and it came off as being a "mark me as a favorite". If he really was a flaming douche bag he would have been more subtle.

At least I'd hope so.
