Well, I am out I think. It looks like the morning scapes are going to be most prevalent. We don't have them around here. Actually in my neck of the woods, morning is blindly stopping at Dunkin Donuts 10 minutes after you wake up, not even sure if you are getting coffee when you order it, because your eyelids are still slits, then trying to find your way to the highway to find your way to the city. Hopefully you will wake up just enough that you don't end up in Los Angeles when you were trying to find your job in Boston.

I think my idea of morning would get about 50 DNMC comments, LOL. I don't usually go to bed until 3 or 4 in the morning. If I did a photo of going to sleep its assumed to be nighttime but would be morning for many. If I do a photo of what "morning" actually means to me, which is being groggy around 11 in the morning and afternoon time to most, I may only get 30 DNMC comments. And unfortuantely I don't think most voters will pay much attention to the quotations around morning and that sentence about whtat it means to you. Ah well, I got a week to think about doing it before I let it slide by like faceless portrait, lol.
Ha ha..you assume too much. Nobody gets 30 comments any more...you might get 15 DNMCs, not 30 :P

I do hope this doesn't upset anyone, but this is me first thing in the morning, and also another three to four times a day.
I decided to put this image into my portfolio, and even considered it for this challenge, but had two main reasons why I didn't.

Firstly, I feel it may have got knocked down by many voters, due to the context (emotive feeling) of the image.

Secondly, it is regonisable, that it is definately me, and sometimes think, this is also a time when one can also get low scores.

If this does offend to many members, I will remove it from my portfolio.
I am not ashamed or displeased with this image, as I live with this each and everyday of my life.

It is me, and I am proud of who I am.

Hey, I think 5:30am is a perfect time to get out of bed and get going. I am looking forward to the perfect shot for this nice early Challenge. So, sure, I'll take the yellow... Heh, heh.

Of course, the perfect shot I'm thinking of is about 2 hours away from SF.

So, let's see...morning dew on a flower? Fog over a still pond? In my part of the world, surfers are out at the crack of dawn so maybe some surfing action? Nah, that wouldn't delight the voters. How about a still life of scrambled eggs and toast? Coffee cup with steam rising out of it? I got it...a lonely paper boy on a bicycle (or maybe a milkman) in the dark early morning hours.

Too many decisions--I think I'll just snooze a little while longer.

You guys still have dew? Your behind the times, we have frost! lol

Mornings would be truly too cool if they started about 1pm...

saturday morning at 1:00 am i was watching flood waters rushing through my family room and out the back door. It went down as fast as it came up, so until about 3:00am I was ripping out carpeting a brooming out water.

I spent the rest of the day on sat. and all this morning shoveling mud and hosing out floors.

I suppose that would make a great occasion for a realistic morning shot but I wasn't in the mood to be taking any pictures.
story I did get some pics for insurance purposes (but now they are saying we aren't covered for flood damage).

Anyway I'm pretty happy with my thursday morning on-my-way-to-work shot. I hope it does well. :)

While I'm not upset by this (subject matter), I think this post is a fine example of the illogical outtakes rule and its obvious haphazard enforcement. Pretty obvious which photo is this person's in the morning challenge as it is almost identical to this one. Yet in the challenge it sits, and right here is a genuine outtake, and yet this thread has not been erased....

edit: typo

edit again: yes I realize this post was made before the challenge started, but surely this is the sort of thing the outtake rule is supposedly meant to address.

This is just a reminder ----

Forum Rule #2 reads at this time: "Please do not discuss specific challenge entries or outtakes until voting has ended."

Outtakes would be other images that you considered entering, or didn't get to enter, or other takes of the image you entered.

Personally I don't see the harm here, but those are the rules at this time, so please try to stick to them.
