Hello,
I just joined and had a question. I have a sony mavica fd-91 and my daughter took a yellow crayon to the lens. Any ideas on how to clean it without ruining the lens? I am also the new owner of a fuji s5200 that I love any tips out there on using it.

I would attempt wiping the crayon off with a lint-free wipe with a little warm water on it. It may take a bit of effort, but you should be able to survive that mishap :)

The crayon should come off easily with a solvent-based lens cleaner like Eclipse. Be sure to se a wipe intended for optical cleaning, and wipe toward the center of the lens so as not to get the crayon lodged between the lens and the mount. Switch to a clean spot often, and do a final cleaning with a brand new wipe.

Thanks for the replies, glad to hear I might be able to save it. |
