i had the extra 'challenge' of a difficult pet to photograph and yet this doesn't have any balance in my score. i think my x is broken and needs adjusting. imo. damn that's low. a four. no way. uh huh. |

Been a rough day for my pet and I, as we watched our score drop quickly from a 6.2 this morning and then hover around 6 all day.

Dang...I'd kill for that. Mine starting tanking HARD this afternoon and I'm not sure all the NEW 4s will allow me back above a 5 again. |

Just finished voting 100%, and about 15% commenting so far, and I didn't give any votes under a 4.
I gave out
10 - "10's"..........
18 - "9's".........
18 - "8's"........
Stacks of "7's, 6's, and 5's..... and some 4's....

Those 8 comments certainly paint the picture in nothing but a positive light. So I certainly don't get why I have had a recent spat of 4's and a few 5's.
I certainly DO HOPE that the majority are judging on the technical merits of the composition and NOT voting it down because of a pet-centric biased. But without an explanation as to why a voter is giving it a 4 I am just left grasping straws.
Sigh, so much for hoping to get this into my top 5 slots. |

people find it easier to post positive comments rather than negative I think.
Because you can just say: Great shot!, Good moment, nice light blahblah...while it takes a lot more effort to explain why you find a picture bad :) |

I can see that making critical statements when I vote lower than 5 on an entry is starting to be an issue.
I was under the impression (mistakenly it seems) that people wanted understanding of why people were rating a certain way on their entries. I have been trying to comment even when I have a negative or constructive comment or thought about a photo, but several comments in this thread seem to point to a few comments I made as being off base or harsh. My opinions are mine, but I was simply trying to provide the feedback people were asking for. |
