At least you'll enjoy yourself doing it now. Surely you now feel the need for at least five new pair of shoes?

Actually, if I ever did change genders, I'd never be able to leave the house on account of the fact that I wouldn't be able to stop playing with my bosoms. Did I say that, or just think it...?

The milk reference might have been better off left alone, considering the breasts remark ;-)

Thanks for bringing that up, Leroy. I'll interview her carefully when I get home to try to determine the real history behind this exchange...

If they ask me if I want this or that, I tell them I'll call / see THEM at the moment I need the item / thing / whatever.

works like a charm :)

Woohoo... finally something we don't have here in California. We have the kiosks but the employees are more likely to be sitting in a director's chair with a vaguely vegetative gaze on their faces than pushing for a sale.

Anyway, anyone else want to vent about their holiday experiences? And don't even get me started on rude cashiers and other staff members.

Two things really bother me about shopping, door Nazis and the temperature of the stores.

The first doesn't really have anything to do with shopping during the holidays per se but it drives me nuts how everyone just gives in to the door Nazis. I'll be damned if I'm going to stand in a line with the sheeple to have my bag checked against my receipt. If they think I stole something they can have an officer of the law arrest me outside. Until that time don't insult me by presuming and treating me like a thief.

The second applies to the "winter" months in general and the holiday season specifically. In most of California we really don't have a "winter" in that it doesn't really get that cold. Yet when the outside temperature drops below 70° stores turn off the AC and by the time it hits 60° outside they have the heat on. With thousands of people descending on malls to shop, their body heat alone is enough to heat the building regardless of the outside temperature. There's no need to have the heat on. One look at the sweaty crowd of shoppers all dragging their coats should make this crystal clear. At the very least they could open the ventilation system when the malls internal temperature hits the 80° mark. After all most people are dressed for the outdoor "winter" temperature not a summer beach day.

If they only stopped people who looked like thieves, that would be profiling.

Looks like they made Leroy wear the uniform...

edit: Fortunately his kiosk is right next to Victorias Secret.

What happens when you walk on by without showing a receipt? Do they then stop you and search your bag or just ignore you? If the latter, I might try it.

I do stand firm on giving them my phone number. I refuse to do that; I give them Art ROFLMAO's number instead. *evil grin*

I didn't suggest they stop people that look like thieves. It would be better if they didn't stop anyone rather than treat everyone as criminals.

I always just walk by without showing the receipt. There's not a lot they can do without risking a lawsuit besides making a scene and pestering you.

Sometimes when they ask , "May I help you?" it feels like they are saying "Are you stealing?".

Not a problem - that must be how I got so many great deals on new windows, vinyl siding, meteor insurance, the "Chia Variety Pack", a thighmaster, the magic bullet (it's like a thousand appliances in one), a Sri Lankan timeshare, ...wait - my phone's ringing - gotta run...

I like the idea about informing them they only had one question, or staring at them for seconds.

But there is freedom of speech, so I try and think of some different clever, smartass, answers.

Then reply with a smile...
1) "You can ask all you want, but I may not answer any."
2) "Yes, sure, for only five dollars each."

While I don't have to worry about this problem, (thank goodness) I think if I did I would put my arm in theirs and say, "Sure, but I'm kind of in a hurry so you'll have to come with me" and drag them along as far as they'll go. Pretty sure they won't go too far from their station but if they do just start making them carry your stuff as you shop. lol

One of the things that does totally get to me is when you go into a store that carries just about everything and they have the perfumes right at the main entrance so you get swamped with 100 different smells as soon as you go in. I have a friend that is extremely allergic to perfumes and such (she did a blow fish impression after using a piece of gym equipment after a guy with cologne on...not pretty), she has to run through these areas holding her breath. I wish these stores would take things like this into consideration.
