Ok ... I dunno if this has been said before or if people have been to afraid to say it or if it was created this way just to be controversial and self depreciating and self referring ... but ...

Why do I think "Even our motto sucks!" should read "Even our logo sucks!"

??
02/06/2007 09:28:33 AM · #202
yeah, that was commented on, by the creator himself! so, yup, the logo sucks too... ;-P

You're one to talk. I gave you a 10 for your Nude photo.

Heck again! ... and the next challenge was Personification. Can you believe that? I think my 'tater woulda done GREAT in that challenge.

I think so too-love that spud - must be the black Irish in me, lol

FINALLY have a comment on my Personification, apparently the commenter thinks it's too much of a gimme because the object is designed to have human characteristics.

On the plus side, they didn't diss my pp or lighting etc. I think the photo is fine technically but the subject matter isn't appealing to people. OH well, at least score on that has crept up to 3.5.

woohoo! I suck!

Not that I'm glad you're getting clobbered in the voting, mind you, but I feel a little bit better about the total apathy that my DOF and Free Study entries are getting now.

If they're dissing you, I have NO prayer!.....8>)

OK, just uploaded Good entry. I'm really happy with the pic, let's see how it does!

Last time I looked Table was at 5.3 and Personification was at 3.4. Wonder how they're doing now....

Good luck snaffles. I just entered bad last night myself. I'm hoping for a few sympathy votes on this one.

Sympathy votes? Why, not happy with it?

Hey guys! Still in Italy. Will leave here tomorrow morning and ride up to Aviano Air Base (which I hear is lovely) and hope we don't run out of gas as the stations are all closed due to a strike. Should be fun.

And here's where I got to spend an hour yesterday:

We had a tour guide who told us all about the cathedral, the cemetary, the frescoes (some fascinating stuff about glue-eating bacteria involved in the renovations), and of course the tower and all the things that have been done to try to keep it from falling over completely.

Hey skewsme, you'll really like my latest comment on my personification entry.

"a good idea but this is a drawning. the scene must be builded with objects"

It is by no means a drawing if that's what they were trying to say.

This person must have listened to DrAchoo.

Bob, you really do have some great architecture photos - looks like there must be a lot of old / abandoned buildings? Great for photo ops - I used to like to go to Baltimore for similar photos, when I could dodge the bullets.

Did you previously live near Baltimore? I had a good friend in the service that was from Silver Springs.

It looks like you have entered one challenge last August. How about entering a few challenges and checking back with us?

I just moved to Charleston six months ago from the DC area. My husband's parents are from Silver Spring as a matter of fact. Small world, huh?

Greetings, kimbelloni! Welcome to the Team Suck thread. If you are interested in joining, we recommend you read through some of our previous threads to make sure the "suck" lifestyle is the one for you :-) In other words, if you are looking to compete on a league, this probably isn't the place. We're more like a big supportive family here. We constantly are trying to improve, but leave plenty of room for creative suckiness.

You might want to send a PM to our fearless leader, posthumous. He might make you write a sonnet on suckiness, or maybe you'll get off with just a haiku.

Hi Mary, see you are online here. Looks like we both were posting to Kimbelloni at the same time. Sorry!

Yeah, well....I'm gonna whine....

In the Shallow DOF challenge, with the exception of the spectacularly amazing winner that was under-scored IMO, which was more about an amazing capture, DOF be damned as it was just fortunate, I see pretty standard fare.

I tried to take a little different approach, got one comment the entire challenge, and I was totally sandbagged by the apathy my entry drew.

My image is more open and doesn't have the background totally blown out of focus, but to me it seems that there is no question where the focus is and this shot calls out the personality in this woman's visage.

So you guys just want to have at it and tell me where you see the error of my ways?

Just so you know I totally love and am happy with this little slice of life and have already printed this out in an 8X10 for framing and the challenge be damned!

I'm just curious if I have once again become a victim of not giving up what the voters expect, and instead, offered up an unusual take that was unacceptable in that alone.
